The United States Institute for Theatre Technology, Inc. (USITT) connects performing arts design and technology communities to ensure a vibrant dialog among practitioners, educators, and students.
The organization includes students as well as practicing and retired professionals in the technical entertainment business. UNCSA is proud to have one of the 25 “Student Chapters” in the country affiliated with USITT. Each year, students from UNCSA raise money to attend the annual conference and exposition.
Since 1961 USITT has held an annual conference to bring together its members for a week of learning and sharing. The first year brought everyone to The Juilliard School, in recent years the conference has been held in Texas, Ohio, Florida, and also Canada. In 2012 we will all be “Catching the wave” to Long Beach, CA as we hope to attend the festival yet again.
By attending the conference we are able to stay present as active members of this great organization, as well as spread awareness for school. During the week in Long Beach faculty and staff will interview prospective students as current students offer insight into our program. We also participate in the “USITT Tech Olympics” which require students from all the schools to display their abilities in knot tying, light hanging, sound installation, and many more.
Just wondering... Who ate my baked goods?
