Update #6: UNINSURED LA: Bumper Stickers
Though we didn't raise the funds for Uninsured LA on Kickstarter, we did raise the funds separately to produce Uninsured LA bumper stickers for the June 27 Organizing For America Health Reform Day of Action. To participate visit www.uninsuredla.org for details.

Update #4: UNINSURED LA UPDATE: PERSONAL STORY
Part of the concept with UNINSURED LA will be to gather stories from the uninsured and underinsured, and then to develop creative ideas for sharing these stories with posters, TV spots, viral videos. Lucinda has very generously agreed to be the first to share her story, here:

Update #3: UNINSURED LA UPDATE: VIDEO APPEAL
The video explains some of the details of the UNINSURED LA campaign with some nifty mockups made with help from Maura Latty, Malaika Zweig and Aaron Amaro.
NOTE: The bumper sticker design is not final...everything is in mock-up phase, in fact. Rest assured, it will be quite clear that this campaign applies to health care and not to car insurance!
Update #2: Uninsured LA Webpage Mock-Up
A photoshop mockup (based on the healthreform.gov site) for the Uninsured LA webpage. Visitors will be able to quickly find information about California and national health reform, get the 'UNINSURED' bumper sticker, and participate in a virtual demonstration in support of health care reform. Each 'H' person is an avatar for a real person who has visited the site and decided to join the movement and share their story as to why they support health care reform that will assure high-quality, affordable health care for the uninsured of LA and for all Americans. Other visitors will be able to read this information by passing their cursor over each 'H' person.

Stephen Latty is a filmmaker. He has worked professionally for six years on diverse documentary and commercial film projects. Recently he directed a lifestyle documentary in Ghana for a major sports-clothing company about several star players competing in the Africa Cup of Nations soccer tournament. For the past three years he has directed the celebrated “The Drums Inside Your Chest” poetry performances and concert films in collaboration with actress Amber Tamblyn; the first DRUMS film premiered at the 2009 Newport Beach Film Festival. He is currently working on a webisode documentary entitled “You Belong Everywhere” which chronicles the experience of troubadour poet and troublemaker Derrick Brown on tour with Cold War Kids. Stephen is a 2003 graduate of the Film MFA program at Art Center College of Design, in Pasadena, CA, and a 1998 graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, where he received a BA with honors in English Literature. He volunteers as much time as he can to service in the Venice/Santa Monica community.
