Good stuff, this is one of the few kickstarters I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on. Any chance there will be a rough indication of how much is left do? Even just a "we need a few more months."
Anyway looking forward to seeing the update, although I loathe facebook so anything you put there will be entirely lost on me.
Creator E.o.E.Games 5 days ago
@Will

Any news?
Creator Paul Marzagalli on April 7
Latest update is live!
Creator Jacob on April 4
Hey ryan, will EoE need more time to finish and polish the game? I don't mind waiting for EoE to be all it can be and I think most backers are with me when I say that!!
Creator Josep M. Pons on April 4
Mar 14, 2013: regular update.... next weeked. It is a loooooooooooong week... I don't want to be cinic, but obviously the lack of news make me worry, as you can understand :(
Creator Paul Marzagalli on February 9

Creator russell on February 9

Creator E.o.E.Games on January 9
Hello Josep,
We were going to do an update on New Years Eve, but decided to take a little more time to get with all our team members so that we can answer exactly what you are asking. Our update this Sunday will be going over our schedule and time frame for development.
See you then!
Creator Josep M. Pons on January 9
Hi... you said that your new update would be before end of the year.
Anyway. This project started to be funded on May. It is time to know some general details:
- How much of the gameplay(the game from start to end) is done (in terms related to be able to end the game
- Graphics?
- Sound?
- What is your release date?
Creator E.o.E.Games on December 17
Thanks for thinking about us Carla! We were going to write an update last night, but due to a freak storm and subsequent power outage, we were kept offline till early this morning. We will be posting that update tonight around 9pm EST.
See you then!
Creator Carla on December 17
Anything new happening here? I know we aren't supposed to get this til mid-next year, but was hoping for an update. :)
Creator E.o.E.Games on October 19, 2012
Things are going great! Apologies for taking so long between updates. We will have one for you this Sunday at our regular time.
Creator Paul Dunnells on October 19, 2012
How's progress? Haven't heard from you guys in a while. Can you drop us an update and let us know how things are going?
Cheers
Creator Hailinel on August 30, 2012
Steam recently launched Steam Greenlight; it's a way to potentially get a game onto Steam by community vote. Are you considering pitching the game for the service through it?
Creator russell on August 13, 2012
Synthesis=no fun
no to mixing and enchanting, keeping the game reto/classic in my mind is not aided by the altier iris style everything needs to be combined and you fear loosing something or using a one of a kind item to make something else. Next youll say you capture and train monsters for an areana like what has happend to the dragon quest series......all bad.
please no synthesis
Creator Richard Wojtaszak on August 13, 2012
bah if anyone loves windows 8 its those that already have a stupid tablet pc of types
Creator E.o.E.Games on August 12, 2012
@Carlos: No we haven't yet. I'm not sure if We will though.
Creator Carlos A Peralta on August 12, 2012
I'm just curious - have you tested on Windows 8? I'm sure it'll work, but it be cool to take advantage of the tiles in Windows 8.
Creator Richard Wojtaszak on August 12, 2012
the encharting system sounds very sweet have a look at what path of exile did with its system of ablites which have slots in that sword / armor that allowed you to put gems in and modify that pice to a certain power upgrade and in a rpg works well.
I belive the item system would work well once you knew certain things like how to combine what items to what and how. but i think you might have to be given one or two to start off with so you know the basics before you start playing like extra hard stright off the bat, Im always trying to play in normal and sometimes i like to skip all intos and stuff to get into the game play but sometimes its good to know how to do things. just dont make it where your stopping and starting with the tutorial. I would like to see how this works say a small map be released as a simi beta type of how the system works.
Thanks.
Creator E.o.E.Games on August 7, 2012
@ R Wilson. If you mean the new "tileset" then no. We are currently working on that and would like to have more progress on it before we show it off. The only other "New" thing I can think of is that we slightly changed how our dialogue pictures are drawn, but we announced and showed that off a long time ago.
Creator R Wilson on August 7, 2012
Did we ever get a final smaple of the 'new' look?
Creator randalthor on August 2, 2012
I just found this turn based RPG on Kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/vitaumbra/vita-umbra-the-life-of-shadows/posts It's called Vita Umbra - The Life of Shadows. It looks like a pretty interesting game, despite it's extremely low fundraising goal. The 2 songs for the game that have been posted so far, are shockingly good.
Creator randalthor on July 22, 2012
How about instead of just getting Fire 2 when 2 characters cast Fire at the same time, you get a unique spell that is only available by combining spells and or abilities. Think Chrono Trigger. Half the fun is finding the unique combinations. When I visit a save point, I want full heal on Easy mode. But I feel there should be no healing on any other difficulties. You should have to manage your inventory. I would like to have items like Tents that will heal, but only at save points and on the world map. I love summons. Maybe have normal summons replace the summoner for a number of turns. And then have a few rare hard to find, uber powerful, summons, that replace the entire party for a while. And maybe we have to collect summons through side quests. Like finding a summoning spell in a forgotten old book. Or by defeating an optional side boss, who then becomes your summon. I love preemptive attacks. I also like attack delays and the IP meter for really big attacks. Party member switching sounds good too. For voice acting, don't just have them shout out catch phrases. Have the party members react to how the battle is going. Or maybe taunt the enemy. I'm really liking the direction the game is taking.
Creator Richard Wojtaszak on July 16, 2012
hello, I wont be posting on tumbler nore will i post on face-crap, twitter i just dont belive in.
Ok battle system to me sounds awsume, please advise if you are going the route that ff did and have random spawns of enemys in a given area you walk further you get harder monsters or are you going to go down the route of say what other silly companys have done and have you level up by there own justice with having mobs placed around a section of map and when you have apparently distroyed them they stay beaten and do not come back unless theres another quest to do so ?. so thats what i really want to get from this a more FF style battle system would be hell nice.
About the healing a bar that allows you to heal in certain sections, would be okish to do. i have found those battle system a lot harder to play by and turns me away if i cant win the battle if i try it more than 3 times with different type of skills. so i dont so much belive in bar systems for health. You could make them fairly high priced but on the first few missions have them given to your char from quest when going out and battleing to do bad.
are you planning on this being a small game just a few hours worth of play or are you wanting this game to be days worth. i like the fact that some get soo big they just keep getting better to come back to. or are you going to try and have an episodic game that keeps comming out with more content via dlc ?.
I hope you get this and reply ill try and keep my options open but thats personally what i feel games like this should be anyways good luck.
Creator Suzie Q Sailaway on July 11, 2012
Wonderful! Another KS I supported did the same- I'm really happy E.o.E. got in on it too! It's such an awesome li'l console. :)

In update 13 the Big trees look too much hills in a topographic map. At first glance I thought they were hills. Looking good otherwise.

@Ryan, if your composer it looking for additional work as well the guys at boot hill hero's (http://www.experimentalgamer.com/boot-hill-heroes-composer/ ) is looking for a composer
Creator MrWahloh on June 1, 2012
@Ryan, thanks for confirming the game pad support.
Question 1: How much buttons will be needed to play this game fully with a Game Pad?
I got a SNES USB controller which has Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Start, Select, 4Arrow, L and R, will that be enough?
Question 2: Will I be able to play the game from a USB stick without installation? Like a Portable Edition.
I've added a USB to my SNES Controller which I use for Emulators and Roms. This way I could take my SNES Controller with me, plug it in the computer and play EoE.
Creator Michael Jordan on May 28, 2012
I love the new monsters! They look awesome.I'm glad the game is coming along so good.
Creator Corey Binns on May 28, 2012
What is the controller configuration? Super NIntendo PC USB controllers exist if you want a truly retro experience:
http://www.amazon.com/Classic-USB-Super-Nintendo-Controller-PC/dp/B002JAU20W
Also if possible (though I know extremely unlikely) you could make a port to a retro 16 bit console like a few others have if your ambitious, there is still a market for a SNES:
http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/games/b76e/…
and a portable SNES/SEGA Genesis:
http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/retro-gaming/ed6b/…
On the reverse of that, would the custom engine be flexible enough to port to modern consoles (Xbox360 & Wii and potential WiiU owner) or other platforms, once your done with the PC version?
Creator E.o.E.Games on May 22, 2012
@John, don't worry, E.o.E. is and always will be 2D. The engine change only changes our programming ability, not out visuals.
Creator John Mak on May 22, 2012
will EoE still have the classic 16-bit look to the game, as i noticed that there is a change of engine for EoE?
also, regarding updates; it is really up to Ryan;
personally i would prefer less updates with more content...
not really sure what others think but once a month seems ok?
Creator E.o.E.Games on May 21, 2012
@ Danielle, Yes, we will be offering the art book!
@ Roy, Yep, there will be game pad support. We actually prefer for people to play that way. Very nostalgic.
Creator MrWahloh on May 21, 2012
I'm curious, will there be Gamepad support? I might have missed the message about that.
It would be great if it had Gamepad support, this is one of the games that's perfect for playing with a Gamepad.
Creator Danielle Hunt on May 21, 2012
When you say most of the rewards will be available for purchase after, will the artbook be available too? I know I've been relentless on asking about it, but the artwork is so gorgeous I can't help myself!
Creator E.o.E.Games on May 21, 2012
@Christopher, lol you haven't missed anything yet. I'm talking about the future!
Creator Christopher on May 21, 2012
Website ? Did i miss something ?
Creator randalthor on May 20, 2012
You don't need to update us every week. Update us as often or infrequently as you think appropriate. Now that the Kickstarter is over, you can focus on game development.
Creator E.o.E.Games on May 20, 2012
@NIck, Yes, most all of our backer rewards will be sold post game release via our website. Thanks for asking!
Creator Nick da Quick on May 20, 2012
would you ever by chance sell a downloadable copy of the complete soundtrack in the future?
Creator E.o.E.Games on May 20, 2012
@ Danielle, very soon! We want to get a little more of the script written first. Thanks for your interest.
Creator Amit Kumar on May 20, 2012
Update as you see fit. We are all living our own lives. I personally donated so I can enjoy your artistic creation when you feel it is complete.
Creator Danielle Hunt on May 20, 2012
Any word yet on when auditions will be for the vocal work? I'm eager to audition :-)
