Wow look at the shitty reply he just gave to Bill on their comments page
That guy is an ass. I wouldnt give him anything
Creator Dung Beetle on December 17
@ Styggron - Yep, let's keep things positive because the funds went down a little bit earlier, and I think it was due to some negative comments being posted. Surely we can get to £780,000 by 12pm?!
Creator Shadowfax on December 17
@Nathanael, you couldn't make it up, really.
Creator Gaz Bailey [HappyMonday @FD Forum] on December 17
@Jasper Not going out of my way,and I disagree. You want to bring your project into disrepute publicly, you're giving people ammunition.Fact.I want more backers for this kickstarter at the end of the day.
Creator Shadowfax on December 17
What I got from those Skyjacker comments is that he is jealous because E:D and SC have stronger brands than he does, and the developers a better reputation and track record than he does. It says more about him as a person than E:D or SC as projects.
Creator Jason S on December 17
@ Gaz Bailey
Yes you are probably right but Josh is just so amazing with his kickstarter and I want to read his book, and well Elite is Elite, I just want to try that too.
Creator Styggron [ELITE VETERAN SINCE 1985] on December 17
@Nathanael Would Drew know perhaps ?
Creator Styggron [ELITE VETERAN SINCE 1985] on December 17
@Dung Spot on. Don't buy tickets...and the show will not go ahead.

There was some chat on here last night about the tax implications of Kickstarter for the gamebook writers.
I've spoken to HMRC this morning and... they don't know. I need to put in a formal question so that an inspector can look at it... ho hum. :(
Anyway, if anyone's interested, here's the link-

@Knarlfin I just can't believe what they said.
Creator Dung Beetle on December 17
Just ignore any unpleasant comments. We're above such pettiness, no point giving anyone like that the attention they crave. We've got more than enough to think about...
Creator Styggron [ELITE VETERAN SINCE 1985] on December 17
@Knarlfin Very true.
Creator Knarlfin [Create The Legend] on December 17
With an attitude like that best thing that could happen is that no one posts any more links to his KS as bad publicity is still publicity...
Creator Styggron [ELITE VETERAN SINCE 1985] on December 17
@Bill Good on you for standing up for ED. I can't believe another developer is slagging off this project. My GOODNESS ! I was going to back them too !!!!!!
Creator Jasper Wijga on December 17
@Gaz Bailey ~ That'd be too much effort for something actually quite negative. Just ignore the guy and his comments. If people want to pledge for his game, then that's their decision to make, they can read his comments just fine and decide if that's the sort of person they'd like to be dependent on. Personally his comments, and quite honestly his broken English, would put me off.
Creator Lars Jørgen Kire[Lortsamler] on December 17
@Gaz: More or less,yes.

@Jason I was just thinking we're heading for a situation, along with all the meta kickstarters, where they're potentially hurting each other.
Creator Gaz Bailey [HappyMonday @FD Forum] on December 17
@Pete Find an undecided person who's considering backing that project.Point out to them what kind of person they're considering giving money to.That's an example,I haven't seen these comments.

Why are there so many space sims in development now.
I find myself having to be choosey because of the huge choice we now have. Certainly cannot pledge them all. I am doing two.
Creator Jon Metcalf on December 17
Doh! reading failure. £50 as £40 can't be gifted.
Creator Pete Wadley on December 17
@Gaz - Sounds like your ready to take them down ;) lol
Yep some comments from another project creator were very petty and ill informed
Creator Dung Beetle on December 17
@ Philip - Yeah, I only ever played the original Elite too, and I played it to death, particularly the Acorn Archimedes version, as I think that's one of the best. It had some great add-on's like furry dice and a sign at the back viewscreen that said "My other ship's a Thargoid"! Though I'm sure others have discussed this several hundred pages ago... ;-)
I never had a pc at the time of Frontier, so only got the chance to try it years later. I had a few goes at Frontier, but could never get on with the combat, and I had no instruction manual either which didn't help. So like you, that's probably why I'm not so desperate for that feature - BUT I still think it's a great feature that'll set the game apart from others, and the thought of doing that is tantalizing with todays technology behind it.

Good morning everyone How's everything in the world of elite
Creator Gaz Bailey [HappyMonday @FD Forum] on December 17
@Lars Has another developer attacked this project or something?
Creator Pete Wadley on December 17
@Graeme and @King H - I agree SPL has to be there at some point for me to think of this as the game I have waited for. I never played elite but in frontier it was was absolutely key for me that everything was continuous. It gave such an amazing feeling of size and space which is what captured my imagination. We are already sacrificing somewhat the feeling of size because we cannot have time control due to multiplayer so I am really looking forward to spl. I will back this game whatever but please please @FD keep working on the SPL after inital release ;)

@Jason I'll just get into my Imp Courier and shoot the 'i' off the Cobra :P
@FD, DB, Michael etc, Will there be Imp Couriers? If so can we get some Imp Courier art work? Pleeeeeeze
Creator Joe Scicluna on December 17
I thought of this this morning and decided to put idea across: Rolex sponsors many and diverse events and projects - perhaps ---> http://www.rolex.com/en#/world-of-rolex/philanthropy/awards-for-enterprise
for this IT gaming project? Elite needs all the help it can get!
Moreover, thought about the Strauss music in Elite... Maybe we could have Oxygene, Equinox from Jean Michel Jarre or ELO's Fire on High.... Many others to consider!
Creator Gaz Bailey [HappyMonday @FD Forum] on December 17
@Lars What's this comment that's been made?Could only see some backpedalling about passion just now when I looked.
Creator Jon Metcalf on December 17
£40 gift pledge added (a fair return to the person who introduced me to oolite).

Creator Gaz Bailey [HappyMonday @FD Forum] on December 17
@Chris Booker Any new avenues of support avail themselves?
Creator Graeme D. Robertson [G.D.R. on forum] on December 17
@King Haggis: Same here. Landing on planets was part of the magic of Frontier & FFE. I can live with it not being in the initial release -- particularly if that means it ends up being anything like DB describes in the last video, with visual diversity, meaningful differentiation and life unique to each planet -- but I consider it a core part of the experience I'm looking for from E:D, even if it takes more time to develop.
Creator Cmdr. Bond [DDF Member + Ship ID & Mug] on December 17
@Juriaan - indeed ;)
Creator Dung Beetle on December 17
@ King Harris - Well, just to clarify - what I meant was that I'm not fussed that it won't "initially" be a feature available from first-day release. I'm pretty sure landing on planets etc will be a free update, as it'd be pretty unfair that if you were chasing someone who had the expansion and you didn't, you wouldn't be able to catch them and they could hide from you indefinitely. Also, I assumed that we'd still be able to fly in the atmosphere of most planets. Can anyone clarify whether we'll be able to at least do this from the start?
Creator Jurriaan Wittenberg on December 17
@Jason @Cmdr. Bond: Thanks! I've been reading the front page and the FAQ about 3times last week, can't believe I missed that about the Founding Members :) So it does give an in-game edge... hmmm VERY tempting :)
Creator Commander Keith [@mistertricker] on December 17
@Knarlfin Yes you've hit the nail right on the head there. If the DLC is immediately available then it's a rip.
@Chris Hill I must admit I wish GT would dump all the junk, lo-res cars and go totally Premium like Forza. There are some great cars in the junk pile though so I have a few that I use regularly but most could go no problem. Interesting that you say it took you two months to get used to your wheel. I have the same issue but haven't had practise time yet due to the hassle of setting it up of an evening.
Creator Lars Jørgen Kire[Lortsamler] on December 17
@Associat0r: what the heck is that guy complaining about? first he goes on about people don't read description on games, before they pledge, and then in the same sentence he claim that 2 spacesims has no "story"? Maybe he should read description also :p

Well, a good weekend we now need less than 10,000 more supporters, to be exact 9681 at the current average pledge which is up to £48.60. We would need an average pledge of £77.94 for this to get funded with no knew backers. Good progress but still a long way to go and a short time to get there.
Creator Philip Turner [AKA PianoPhil @ FD Forum] on December 17
@ Dung - That was something I mentioned last night. DB showed off the clouds and also mentioned flying through gas clouds for fuel so I'd be surprised if they are not involved somewhere. It all depends on how we will prevent us from landing on planets. Will it be like the original elite and you just die (burn up on re-entry or can we fly around the planet?
Not an issue with me since never played Frontier (just the original Elite), but can appreciate people who want it. The coding to get it right and look authentic and good over a billion planets must be a nightmare. Willing to wait so that it is good,
Creator Jason S on December 17
Josh has been nothing but supportive of ED really. And also DB has been nothing but supportive of Josh.
So creators can be friends.
Creator King Haggis on December 17
@Dung Beetle - I am fussed about landing on planets. That's what makes Elite so special. There are numerous other spaceshooters/traders. It's a new Elite that I want. Planetary landings included.
I pledged, I even increased my pledge yesterday, but I do hope Braben keeps to his word when he says he'll add the procedural planet stuff at a later date. If we don't get procedural planets in Elite Dangerous, then I might as well fire up Frontier or Pioneer again and give my money to the groceries.
Creator Cmdr. Bond [DDF Member + Ship ID & Mug] on December 17
