Update #41: The Pudding is in the Proof
Well here we go! Check out the video to see what your game will look like when you get it. I will sound drab and monotone in the video, but it is only because I recorded this late at night and Leo was asleep next to me. Trust me when I say I am ecstatic and so excited to see my game coming to life, and it is all thanks to you. (Sorry about the low volume, you may need to crank it up to hear).
Let me know if you have any questions about the components and I'll be happy to answer them as best I can. When the games ship and are on the way here I will send out the surveys to get all of your address information and such.

Update #40: Hard Proof Incoming!

I just received word from my printer that the hard proof has arrived stateside and will be here soon. I'd much rather be reporting your games have arrived, but as you know, we fell a bit behind. I apologize for that.
When I get the proof, I will be sure to share a video with you so you can see how it looks. My printer estimates once the hard proof is approved the timeline is 3-4 weeks to produce and 3-4 weeks to ship over. There is some hope it may be shorter as indicated in the below quote from the printer.
"After proof approval, production usually takes 3-4 weeks. I imagine this job will take less time as it is smaller.
After production, shipping usually takes 3-4 weeks. Again, usually this is shorter, but it’s what we like to estimate to be safe."
So we are looking at up to 8 weeks before the games arrive at Game Salute and then another week or 2 for them to package up and deliver the games to you fine folks. Again I apologize profusely for the delay and thank you for your patience while we wait for the game.

I can't wait to play this game so bad....I just hope you decide to offer the game mat as an extra sometime in the future. My life just wouldnt be complete without it :)

As someone who has been on both sides of the Kickstarter "coin" - backer and project owner, I feel like I have a good handle on what makes KS special, especially in the board game genre. One of the things I appreciate most is getting to know the designer and/or publisher and being at the forefront of knowledge sharing for a project. Sort of like if you have ever been to a professional sporting event where you know one of the players, or seen a movie and you know one of the actors, it just makes you that much more interested in the product (whatever it may be) when you know someone who is behind it. I love helping people bring things to life on Kickstarter and I love you guys for helping me bring IIGD to life.
And with that I have some news I'd like to share... No later than Thursday 3/29/2012, my wife Jessica and I will welcome our third child (and third boy) into this world! This is a very exciting time for me and I am very anxious to meet our little one. Things will certainly be busy around our household in the coming weeks!
In the meantime, things are moving forward with the printer. Getting going took a little longer than I expected, but I should have the soft proof this week. Now this being my first time, it is hard to say exactly where this puts us for delivery, but my gut tells me we are a little behind schedule. I don't think it is anything drastic, but delivery may be June instead of May now. We shall see, I will certainly keep you all posted.

Update #37: We need a Board Game Geek microbadge!
It is high time there was a Microbadge for IIGD don't you think?!?!?
I am hoping that one (or two) of you esteemed backers is willing to brave the BGG wild and bring a microbadge to life!
