About this project

Hey there,

We are Jason Heath & The Greedy Souls from The City of Angels. We play a style of music we like to call Post Modern Acoustalectric, Amerikana, Agit-Pop, Arena Folkountry Rawk. Last year we released our first album “The Vain Hope of Horse” independently on our own label “Still Small Music”. Our new album, “Packed For Exile” is in the works.

As independent artists it means we’ve been responsible for funding everything ourselves from recording and pressing to publicity and touring, etc, etc…. As this has given us the freedom to express ourselves creatively without having to answer to anyone beyond the confines of our rehearsal room, it limits our ability to record and distribute the things we create. With the access the internet gives to music fans globally, we believe it is an exciting time for music! Programs such as Kickstarter allow hard working bands like ourselves to have the opportunity and privilege to go straight to the people for their support enabling us to continue creating on our own terms.

We are currently in the studio working on our new album ‘Packed for Exile” and I’ll be damned if we haven’t run out of funds. Jason Heath & The Greedy Souls need your help to finish what we think is one hell of an album, if we do say so ourselves. Unless we get an infusion of dough, it will be a long time before this work sees the light of day and is promoted properly.

The money you help us raise will go exclusively toward finishing the record, manufacturing cd’s and vinyl, promoting our album (publicity and radio) and gettin’ us out on the road and headed toward your town! This past year we’ve played in New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Austin, Seattle, Portland and various other towns along the west coast where we’ve had the pleasure of meeting, in person, many of the people we’ve connected with in cyberspace. We’ve been fortunate enough to hear from folks all over the world through our website and social networking pages. We thank everyone for their invitations to us to come to their town and play, and it is our goal in 2011 to be able to meet as many of those warm requests as possible, in the U.S. and abroad.

We’ve designed several packages which will be sent to you as a thank you for your support of this and future projects.

We don’t just write songs about working men, we are working men, so we understand how hard it is to make ends meet. Anything you can send our way would be greatly appreciated and we would be honored to know you folks care enough to help us realize our vision and get our music out into the world.
