I need to make a real studio album as soon as possible for my band Opium Western.
I've made several studio recordings over the 20 years I've been involved in music; so I know what I'm after, what to expect, and what it's going to take.
We need a strong budget, a great studio, and - most importantly - a great producer with a proven track record.
That being said... I'm fortunate enough to have a close friend who is extremely successful in the music business. He has access to this caliber of producer; and if I can come to the table with a budget I can at least approach these individuals on a serious, professional level. The music business has changed drastically over the last 10-plus years; and many are taking projects for a fraction of what they used to charge.
When you get a pro-level producer on board an added benefit is they usually will contribute to the effort to get you involved with a record label. While that would be the more ideal outcome, even a good distribution deal with a label or distributor can make the product a success...
I have several producers in mind as well as studios. All I need is the budget.
