OUR GOAL: We are looking to raise production funds for our short film ORIGIN: Prologue, which is an abbreviated introduction to the feature script entitled ORIGIN written by Richard Greenwood Jr. The short will be used as a preview of the feature to gain interest and generate a fan base. 

THE BUZZ: Will come from the word of mouth of every person who sees, talks about and contributes to this project. The film will also see it's way into (well at least submitted to- lol) a large number of festivals which will also allow for greater exposure and with any luck, the right person will see and appreciate this film and want to join with us and make the feature.

THE FILM: It is a very visual high concept noir/conspiracy/thriller/horror which has deep interesting characters, religious conspiracy and tons of action. Think of a movie that combines The Crow, Sin City, The Prophecy, Dark City, Constantine and the Da Vinci Code crammed all together and you would have ORIGIN.

THE LOOK: Will be a very high contrast modern noir feel with immersive camera movements and picturesque cinematography. The overall look of films like The Crow or Dark City with the camera work of The Da Vinci Code. The color pallet will consist of mostly blacks, whites and grays highlighted with cool blues and greens so that the red's really punch out. Principle photography will begin March 10, 2012 in the greater Los Angeles area. The film will be shot on the RED EPIC camera, yes the same camera Peter Jackson is using right now on The Hobbit.

LOG LINE: Hell bent on discovering who he is, a fallen angel with the uncontrollable urge to kill, teams with a young woman to elude a driven cop and a malicious cult until he is confronted with his true destiny.

SYNOPSIS: In a cold dark city permeating with death, greed, hunger and violence, a Fallen Angel struggles to know his identity and his past. The only thing he knows is the violent murders he is drawn to commit and the pleasure he feels doing so, until the day he spares the life of a young woman. Deciding she is “special” he seeks her out and convinces her into helping him discover his origin. 

As they embark on their quest they are pursued by a driven “super” cop, motivated by his own personal vengeance, and a malicious religious cult that is out to bring the world to their knees, at the foot of the church. The Fallen Angel must accept his true identity while discovering humanity within himself before he can fulfill his divine destiny. 

THE CAST and CREW: The film is being writen, directed and produced by Rick Greenwood (www.imdb.com/name/nm1431611 )and the Cinematographer is John Honore (www.imdb.com/name/nm1431611 ). The two have already collaborated on Greenwood's last film Hinnon Valley, which has been an official selection at more than a dozen film festivals and has won four awards including Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography. Origin: Prologue will be produced by the majority of the same team that created their previous award winning film, including the Production Designer, Gaffer, camera team and other key personnel.  The cast will consist of highly talented SAG actors, that will add their amazing talent and professionalism to bringing thease great and complex characters to life. Our cast list has been filled, but need to lock the funds before we can commit them-thats where you come in!!!

THE FUNDS: The money raised here on Kickstarter will be used for the production expenses. Producing a film, above it's complex scheduling and visualization, requires a lot of time and MONEY to be realized. We have a great team (cast and crew), but we need funds to secure locations, permit fees, equipment rentals, props, wardrobe, food, equipment, supplies and the million other little things involved in turning an idea into a vision enjoyed by all. The Cast and Crew are primarily donating their time, skills and bodies(or should we say working for FREE) to the production-because we all believe in it and want to see it brought to life!

THE REWARD: As you will see to your right, there are a great number of incentives offered to you for your generous donations. As hard as we try, these awards can never equal the gift you will give us by allowing us to pursue our dreams and aspirations. We are filmmakers!!! Thats what we live, love and die to do-with your generous help-you make our lives full!!! Even if you can't afford to help out financially and you like our project, please just pass it along to friends, family and all the film fans you know...we will take ALL the help we can get.
