From a fine art education to zookeeping for many years, and on to a photography business; my love for nature, wildlife, and photography have merged to create a body of work that will show at the Sundance Resort during the Sundance Film Festival.

This current work is the result of years photographing a herd of ponies who are allowed to roam free at the Tidecreek Welsh farm, located at Deer Island, Oregon. I like to think that these are NOT your regular “Horse Images”. All of my zookeeping experience with wild animals comes into play as I wander about with the ponies and photograph those moments when light, feeling, and nature present themselves. I don't interfere in their lives, and I definitely don't “construct” a picture. There's enough magic already there and the ponies are definitely my collaborators!

My most recent show at the Talisman Gallery in Portland, Oregon, was very successful. Many who had never been around a pony responded with a powerful connection with those images, which was very exciting. The conversations fed my artist's soul, and really showed me that I was on the right track.

My show at Sundance will take place from December 1st, 2010 through February, 2011. This is a wonderful opportunity for my work to find a huge audience. However, this requires a great deal of money for printing, matting and framing, as well as getting the work to the gallery all the way from Portland, Oregon.

I hope that when you see the images that you will experience what I do when I'm with the ponies as they wander in the woods and pastures. This is a dream that I hope you will want to be a part of!
