This CD has been a long time in the making - music from Texas to Motown by way of New Orleans - 'Come On Home'...
Hi – welcome to our kickstarter page! So glad you found us……
We are here because we are trying to raise money for our newest CD, ‘Come on Home’. We have really been taking our time with this one, it has been a true labor of love. I know that everybody always says this, but I truly think that this is going to be the best thing we have done. I am really proud of the songs and in addition to our great band, the Rhythm Tramps, we've got some special sit-in guests we're thrilled about: from New Orleans, the ever so funky Jon Cleary on piano; the amazing Mike Finnigan back on B-3 (he's played on several of our CDs but this time we get to sing a duet together); Lee Thornburg once again has lent us his considerable talents on trumpet and his superb horn arrangements, and FINALLY, we're so excited to have the infamous horn section from Mingo Fishtrap joining us on a track too.
Obviously, most of the money will be going to the regular costs of releasing a CD (manufacturing, mastering, printing artwork, etc.) but this time, with this CD, we are looking to expand our range and we would like to be able to add enough to the budget to not only have a promoter to work the radio, but to hire a publicist and take out more ads to really help get the word out. Now that our kids are grown, we are able to get out and promote the product on the road more and are hoping to start developing some new markets - which may require a little bit of subsidizing until we can start the ball rolling.
