Update #4: Premiums are on their way!!!

Posted on July 30, 2010

Friends, I can't thank you enough. Davina the Dragon's maiden voyage was a huge success! Your names and precious wisdom traveled into Black Mountain North Carolina, to the temporary city of Mysteria. The people of Transformus had no Idea what they were in for. I spent some frantic time rigging the lights and upholstering the interior. Her suspension gave me some problems but a little creative use of wooden blocks solved everything. We cruised the main drag with the belly full of relaxing revelers and the dance floor covered in jubilant boogiers. The dragons head bobbed side to side and belched massive fire balls. Saturday afternoon I offered to drive her into the main bonfire. The fire safety team cleared it with the artists who built the pyre. Then it rained heavily for hours. The bonfire was drenched and after it's pyrotechnics went off it just smoldered. We drove up with the head and tail wagging and unloaded 50 gallons of propane onto it. That helped it along 5,000 people cheered with glee. I was told it was the most dramatic fire lighting they'd ever had. Floydfest was a blast as well. I gave rides to teeming masses of children and then parked by the village stage wherer big kids piled on and tried to see how hard they could rock her.

Now about these donut holes. Did you know that the holes at the donut shop where not actually cut from the middle of the donuts? I'm afraid the same wound up to be true of your names and words. The methods I used to cut characters out of the scales left me with very few whole words and a lot of tiny slivers blown off into cluttered corners of the shop. I have a pile of extra scales. For names and short phrases you have the option of getting a scale with your name cut out of them. If you want the metal letters, I will send them your way. I hope to get everyone's premiums to them by the end of August.

Thanks again, I couldn't have done it without you, Christian

Update #3: The naming of scales has begun!

Posted on June 22, 2010

Friends...I cut the first four names this morning. Susan, Sean, Daniella and Pim now each have a scale. There's more to come. I'll be sending pictures in due time. I have gotten some excellent phrases from 33+ donors and would like to collect some more so I can be aware of how your passages might effect each other. In other news the engine started for the first time in 3 years today and she took her first steps. It was pure magic!

Can you feel it?

(P.S. Daniella at Kickstarter not only dropped $13 on the project but she's included it in two of her blogs. I'm flattered pink. http://blog.kickstarter.com/post/701170936/reward-charm http://blog.kickstarter.com/post/725498354/kickstarter-shorts-bite-size-projects)

Update #1: Thank you all...Please don't stop!

Posted on June 15, 2010

My friends, I am so grateful for your support It keeps me going as the sparks fly through heat and humidity. I posted a 500$ goal and have just achieved it. This insures that I will indeed receive the money you've donated. It was a lowball estimate on what it would cost to haul this creation hundreds of miles into the mountains. If you care care to donate, please continue to do so. This mission needs every penny it can get. You will inherit a great karmic fortune. Thanks, Christian
