About this project
Hi Kickstarter friends!
We have been invited to Purdue University Art Gallery to make new work for the exhibition MakeSHIFT, an exploration of everyday materials and interactive art!!
This is the latest project in an eight-year relationship as friends and collaborators. Since undergraduate school, where we worked side-by-side, we have shown together here in New York, teamed up in the Jeffrey Deitch Art Parade, and worked together on community arts intiatives (www.openhousebk.com).
Now we are opening our work to new people and possibilities as we create new works for and during the show! We're excited that in addition to exhibiting we will be holding workshops, and inviting students and viewers to share in creating site-specific installations with us in the gallery!!
.**We are asking for support for the materials, shipping, and means necessary for our contribution to MakeShift to become fully realized!!
In exchange for your support:
*We created a 54"x48" collage from everyday materials and will be showing it at the MakeSHIFT exhibition. Those who contribute $20.00 or more will receive a piece of this collage after it has been exhibited, opening another cycle of sharing and collaborating!!
This artwork honors your role in supporting our mission to connect and share with others through our art.
We send you Love, Art & Hugs!!

As an art therapist and artist, Melissa Diaz invites the viewer to create within a shared space within her professional and personal installation artworks. Diaz aims to explore transitional space in both installation, art/viewer participation, and art therapeutic space.
Danny Coeyman works as a portrait, mixed-media, and performance artist. All of his work involves connecting with others, whether meeting a new person and developing a relationship through portraiture, or actually touching and creating together in his perfrmance works. Coeyman uses the platform of art making to further understand trans-personal psyche and relationship formation.
Both Coeyman & Diaz not only share similar sentiment and belief towards creating and experiencing art, but have also collaborated on many art projects and exhibitions for the past 8 years.
