Good afternoon!

We are now in the final few days of the Kickstarter. It's going to be teeth-grindingly close!

I've just opened up a whole new load of the £7 tier to celebrate riot-in-Walmart day. So if you know anyone on the fence, now is the time to convince them. Let's get this project funded!

Today I have an interview in RPS and I'll be releasing more footage very soon. But in the meantime there are plenty of interviews about the game that need reading! All very in-depth with lots of juicy details about the game, so check them out: Beefjack, CitizenGame, Hookshot inc, PC Gamer and PlaySF.

We really need all the support we can get at the moment. Please spread the word about the game!

I see that the Rachael Rosen tier has generated £10.5K in backers to date! That, and a sudden £20K rush in 6 hours looks like getting the game over the line with a couple of days to spare. Well done! I've backed 31 kickstarters this year, but Maia is the one I'm most thrilled to see get up. Congratulations! :-)

Best of luck with this Simon, I'd really like to see it funded, and it's surprising and disheartening that it hasn't gone over the line yet.

Moreover. I can't change the tiers now anyway, so it doesn't bear discussion.

Rob I do agree that those tiers limit sales, but if people are buying into the concept they don't care about that anyway. This isn't a preorder shop. The tiers are just bonuses not incentives.

Secondly I promised those tiers for a specific community who have helped with the development of the game. They asked for them and I delivered. If it loses a few fence sitters, I'll live with it, because having a rich community will hold this game together even if the KS fails. The group I did this for has already brought in more than enough to make up for actual and hypothetical losses.

First up, buy-in price is too low to start with, so you need a lot more people to achieve less. You are not competing on price, you are competing on high-concept. Secondly, the multi-tiered limited pricing is part of Maia's problem. Telling everyone who drops by after the first couple of days that they've missed the super riot-in-Walmart busting specials is a good enough reason for many on the fence to simply turn and walk the other way. If you walk into Walmart and see a sticker indicating that you could have got the item for half off the day before, you'd rightly feel pretty miffed. Why a bunch of kickstarters seem to have got it into their heads that this is a good way to do business is a tragic example of herd thinking gone horribly awry. The only reason this works to a small extent in a retail environment is as bait advertising - to get customers into the store who will then go onto spend more or other thing - and even then the sale price ticket disappears after the initial bait quantities sold out. Also, the mid-level tiers don't offer sufficient incentive to kick in more cash above the minimum - high-res wallpapers for another £5? meh. On the other hand, $45 to have my name and bio in Prison Architect, I'm in for that! Limited early bird pricing is also another good reason not to jump up a tier - if you happen to have got in at the £5 or £7 tiers you're actually paying up to an extra £10 for wallpapers, and you "lose your place in the line".

Exposure is what is really needed to kick this starter along a bit, so new interviews/articles is a welcome addition in these late stages of the campaign.
