Hello Backers!

First, I would like to thank all of you for your support. Were it not for your contributions I would not have the great pleasure of writing to you now. 

There are a number of exciting updates to share with all of you, most notably the arrival of materials. In the days to come I hope to post additional updates and photographs detailing the construction of the hammer. 

Meanwhile, thanks in large part to the outpouring of support all of you have shown, I designed and submitted instructions for a revised LightHammer which I posted to the DIY website Instructables. The full set of instructions, including digital files, can be viewed here:

This new hammer uses the simpler circuitry of the Mk2 but borrows many of the design principles of the Mk3 and has been given the designation of LightHammer Mk2.5. In addition to being available to the public, the Mk2.5 instructions are eligible for a number of competitions which are being hosted by the Instructables website. If you happen to be a member of the Instructables website or are interested in joining (membership is free) please be sure to vote for the LightHammer Mk2.5 as part of the Make It Real and Wood Working challenges.
