About this project
BodyStories/Teresa Fellion Dance, established in 2004, is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to reach our next level of career advancement, but we can’t do it without your help! Please help us take this giant leap towards our potential!
We have been invited by one of the most well-known and respected agents in the dance field, Jodi Kaplan, to perform at the end of the summer in Edinburgh, Scotland as part of her critically acclaimed and curated “Booking Dance Festival.” 2,000 international presenters are scheduled to attend the two-week event in search of companies like BodyStories/Teresa Fellion Dance to book for future paid engagements. For more about the festival and our performances, click here: http://www.bookingdance.com/festivals_edinburgh2010.html.
And Edinburgh is just the beginning! BodyStories/Teresa Fellion Dance has also been signed to Jodi Kaplan’s elite Artist Roster, which means we will have even more opportunities in the future to receive consistent, paid performance and teaching opportunities internationally at high artistic, financial and professional levels. Since its inception, the company has had the wonderful opportunity to perform at Baryshnikov Arts Center, Jacob’s Pillow, Bryant Park SummerStage, New York University, The Public Theater, Phish’s Coventry Festival, and Les Reuteleu Festival in Lyon, France, among others. We have been fortunate to have so many opportunities thus far, and we have been pushing to challenge our creative boundaries in order to share new ideas with our communities. We are made up of company members from all over the United States and four continents and it is so important for us to share our work at the international level.
This summer we will be presenting “Fault Line," a quartet reflecting the growth, repetition, contrast, intimacy, separation, and parallels of human relationships and wide-ranging levels of connection. Through complicated phrase-work and partnering, this piece embodies how relationships and movement have the ability to ricochet, burst, support, harmonize, and suspend. "Fault Line" premiered at Sarah Lawrence College in April 2010 and was performed at The Merce Cunningham Theater this June. Come see us also perform for free at Bryant Park Summer Stage July 16, 2010 at 6 p.m.!
All worthwhile opportunities involve risk. The company has been working tirelessly over the course of the past several months to cover the expenses of participating in this renowned festival as well as recoup the initial fee for being selected to Jodi Kaplan’s roster, but we have not yet reached our ultimate fundraising goal. With your support now, we can guarantee a bright future for BodyStories/Teresa Fellion Dance full of national and international performing and teaching opportunities. BodyStories/Teresa Fellion Dance is a fiscally sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions on behalf of BodyStories/Teresa Fellion Dance are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. We strongly appreciate your love and support over the years and we aim to give it back to you through our art and community involvement. Much love to you all!!
Best Wishes,
Teresa Fellion

BodyStories/Teresa Fellion Dance exists to embody the raw, rhythmic force of universal human encounters. BodyStories/Teresa Fellion Dance uses athletic physicality, imagery, spatial architecture, and psychologically driven work to transfer existential human experience into a synergistic art form. Since its inception in 2004 and during the creation of over 25 works, the company utilizes a unique approach to multi-faceted research, writing, and movement exploration and development to converse at the core of emotional commonality. Audience members claim the resulting movement catapults the viewers’ passion, wraps it into twisting curvatures onstage and returns it with the power of a lighting bolt.
I was raised to believe in yourself and work hard for what you believe in. Since I was 10 years old, I've been doing just that by selling stationery to get to ballet camp, delivering papers, and now running an international dance company. Please help us continue to grow :)
