Kickstarter

I'm going to create a limited run serigraph of the crucifixion called "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit". It's in chiaroscuro, with red ink representing the nails and spear hole. The run will be on white cotton rag paper approximately 20 by 30 inches. The black aspect of the print will be done at a local printer, and then the red will be individually hand painted on each print by myself (and whomever I can get to help me).

I'm Catholic, so of course I've grown up around religious art, and have long been fascinated by it. I studied religious art in college as well, which deepened my appreciation for the symbolism and complexity in many pieces. A few years ago I created this image as a Christmas gift for my parents. They had it framed, and I was struck by how beautiful it looked and since then have wanted to do a large print run. I've only been held back by a lack of resources.

The major costs are buying and shipping the rag paper and paying for the printing and trimming of the artwork. I look forward to working with you to make this project happen!
