Update #14: Digital Art for Backery Backers Who Backed Us and Insane GlitchDad
Update #13: Octodad: Dadliest Catch
I know we’ve been absent for some time now, but you’re in luck because in our absence we mustered up some stuff to show off for ya’ll. It’s really a night and day difference now when we look at what we had with the first game in comparison with what we’re heading towards with Octodad: Dadliest Catch. Oh yeah, did we mention we finally decided on a name? I think our teaser trailer could probably sum up what this all means a little better than I can so without further ado:
(Kickstarter wouldn't embed for some reason.)
http://youtu.be/03rP_O2k8XMWell what do you think? Make sure to leave some comments on the video or our facebook and twitter so we know how we’re fairing.
In other news the plushies from the Kickstarter are finally completed and we’ve sent those out to everyone that picked that tier! You should be receiving them soon if you haven’t already. Thank you all for your unwavering patience! It’s been a bit tough working to get all of these Kickstarter prizes shipped out since we’re swamped with development, jobs, and everything else. We wouldn’t be able to be spending the time to create this weird and charming experience without you though! For that we are all eternally grateful. :) Make sure to send all your love over to one of our designers John Murphy as he’s the one who sewed each and every one of the plushies by hand!
If you’ve been wondering when you’ll be getting your digital art prize we’ll be sending out that little care package soon!
For anyone who has yet to get their shirt or prize make sure you’ve previously sent us your current address and also your shirt size! Remember we’re doing all the legwork on our own so we need your help in order to get these delectable gifts out to their proper owners. (YOU!)
If you haven’t received your prize make sure to shoot me an email at phil@octodadgame.com with info like: what tier you donated to, your current address, and if applicable a shirt size.
I’ll be on standby to answer any questions you might have and hopefully remedy any issues.
Thank you again for all of your support! (From all of us!)

Update #10: Fantastic Arcade
Hey backers for the past month or so we’ve been sitting on the news that Octodad 1 was accepted into the Fantastic Arcade showcase. Now the bomb has been dropped from on high a top the Fantastic Fest news feed and we can share some cool things with you. Fantastic Arcade is a game festival which is still pretty new. Last year they featured games like Enviro-Bear 2000: Operation: Hibernation, FEIST, Monaco, Machinarium, Nidhogg, Braid, Canabalt, and many many others.
We here at Young Horses feel so utterly and completely honored to be featured among the great titles in this year’s festival. We were lucky enough to be featured in the festival’s main competition where we’ll be sharing some arcade space with such monstrous titles as: Capsized,Faraway, Fez, FRACT, Jesus VS. Dinosaurs, Radical Fishing, and Skulls of the Shogun. There are also 13 other great games being featured at Fantastic arcade: Banker’s Dozen, Bit Pilot, Deep Sea, Dyad, Hohokum, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, Lost Mars,Murder Dog IV: Trial of the Murder Dog, Owlboy, Salome, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, They Bleed Pixels, and last but not least Ute (A game for adults).
You can find a press release including trailers for each game here at the Austin Independent Game Collective Juegos Rancheros.
If you live in Austin make sure to drop by. The arcade portion is open to the public and admission is free! Come give us a shout if you can. : )
Read more if you’d like to find out what we’ll be doing at the festival including our new arcade grade control scheme including a track ball and six buttons.

What, Fez is already released? Or do they actually have a playable Beta or something? I thought Fez was long dead, I haven't seen any updates on it for years.
Also, congratulations, this is pretty cool!

Thank you! FEZ is alive and kicking. The creators just spent their time making the game rather than publicizing it during the past few years. It's supposed to come out this year.

Young Horses is a Chicago based game development studio that exists to create wildly different games than what one would usually come across. We strive to push the boundaries of game design in order to create experiences that players have not seen before. This is not only because we think that we should be bringing something new to our medium and our industry, but because we think that innovation is necessary to reach new, broader audiences. Our goal is to create innovative, intelligent, charming, joyful entertainment that can be enjoyed by both children and adults.
