International residency to create an exhibit with 7 other artists designed for children and their families
I have been awarded a residency at the Chateau de La Napoule this fall from October 9 to November 6, 2012. It is a themed residency entitled Do You See What I See? I am planning to create a large scale safely structured sculptural environment for people of all ages to be able to walk through. One aspect of the installation may be kinetic. My sculptural work includes surprising manipulations of everyday materials. The materials I work with include: re-purposed packaging materials, recycled papers, cloth, plastics, reconfigured chairs, and furniture. My work is often accented by video or digital projections that bring the real world into my playful one.
I will be working at the Chateau de La Napoule with seven other international artists towards creating an exhibit in 2013 to be shown in the United States and France. We will have the opportunity to meet cultural members of the French government, American Consulate, museum directors, artists, and writers.
Your generous contributions will enable me to pack or ship appropriate materials and purchase other necessary tools and items I will need to carry out this wonderful cultural exchange.
THANK YOU for being a part of this exciting venture!
