Hello all!
I recently performed Cry Havoc for the Los Angeles Psychological Association with an overwhelming response! Below is a quote from that show:
Dear Stephan, I have been thinking about you, and apologize for the delay in sending my thanks for your powerful performance for our Community Outreach Event, Mirrors of the Mind: Psychotherapist as Artist. I was moved by your performance of Cry Havoc, and this was the experience of everyone on the Committee and all those I spoke to afterwards. Your performance was infused with humor, pathos, anguish of trauma, anger, loss and grief, guilt, search for meaning, repair through relationship and hope. It relayed the experience of military service and return in a way I have not seen before. Your integration of Shakespeare at just the right moments brought new meaning to his work for me. In the context of your narrative, I heard beauty, passion and timeless wisdom in his words. I look forward to keeping in touch and will be recommending your work as a powerful way to educate our community about the impact of war.
Best regards, Pamela Pamela J. McCrory, Ph.D. Licensed Psychologist

First, we met our goal!! Thank you to our backers, PLUS several people who sent money directly to the VCPA, for helping us reach our financial goal!
Second, WE DID IT! We completed this vital piece of theatre. Through two weeks of performances (while still rehearsing & re-writing) we have created an production described as:
"[A] play [that] makes the suffering of Veterans ancient, and Shakespeare contemporary." (Karen Harris, Emmy-Award winning writer)
"I have not seen a more powerful and moving one man show, ever." (Ben Donenberg, Artistic Director, Shakespeare Center Los Angeles)
Third, through the generosity of everyone at Shakespeare Center Los Angeles, we have both a home for our work AND a new relationship with a long-standing, hard-working, "doing actual good in the world" organization.
THANK YOU to everyone that donated, shared information, forwarded our links attended the production, and helped in more ways than I can mention!
Phase One: Create the Play... COMPLETE
Phase Two: Get this out to the world to help Veterans and our local communities... BEGIN!
Thank you from the bottom of my being.
More soon,
Stephan Wolfert
