Percolating at the turn of the millennium, the Old-School Renaissance exploded in 2006 with the publishing of OSRIC. Since then, over 500 different supplements, adventures, and rule systems have burst forth from the imagination of gamers young and old. This calendar celebrates the creativity of the gamers who play old-school games by recording the publishing history of the OSR. Additionally, each month features information on some of the original materials that created the rpg community, as well as dates for important, and sadly missed, creators such as Gary Gygax, Dave Arneson, Bob Bledsaw, M.A.R. Barker, Jim Roslof, and Keith Parkinson.

To properly celebrate the OSR, the 2013 Old-School Renaissance Calendar will feature 12 brand new, full-color illustrations from artists active in the OSR. Backers also have the opportunity to include special holidays, themselves, or their game into the calendar. Some of the artists who've already committed to this project include:

Alright ladies and gents, I know it’s going to take a lot of backers to get this project off the ground because I want to keep the calendar as inexpensive as possible. I hope everyone who’s interested in this project graciously provides it some world-of-mouth advertising. I think the 2013 OSR Calendar is going to be a beautiful thing to behold, and I hope everyone else shares my enthusiasm about it. We need to get the word out to all interested parties. So let's make next year a monthly exploration into the wonders of Old School Gaming!
