In August 2008, Brian Fender posted an ad on Craigslist inviting strangers into his living room to participate in a documentary project. Over the next few months, he filmed interviews of naked men from the neck down and asked them to share stories about their penises. Ranging in age from twenty-one to eighty, straight and gay alike; from ex-monks to transsexuals, marines to designers, the result was a collection of intimate stories, equal parts humorous, poignant, and illuminating. Hoping to demystify and even celebrate this often-ignored “member” of society, this feature-length DIY documentary is a revealing and candid exploration of the male psyche as explored through DICK.
