TV Girl is touring these United States this summer and need cash for a van that won't catch on fire and burn them to death.
Let's cut the crap and get straight to business. We're going on our first ever national tour and need some cash to buy a van. Thus far as a band, we've managed to evade the slimy tentacles of a record label and subsequently have to fund a tour completely on our own, which shouldn't be a problem with the help of our fabulous friends and fans. We've given away the vast majority of our music for free, so if you've ever had the notion to support us financially, here's the chance you've been waiting for!
Sure you could spend your money on some sort of worthwhile charity cause instead of helping out some indie band live "the dream," but then you wouldn't get the fabulous prizes we've lined up. Prizes like t-shirts, demos and unreleased tracks, vinyl records, and other mind-blowing bonuses, including the grand prize of an original song in the style of a musical artist of your choice. Go ahead, try to stump us.

Yes. Probably. Definitely. But on the other end of the spectrum, there's certainly worse things that you spend your money on all the time. Drinks, drugs, or any number of vices for starters.
