On your marks
Hello again
I hope you're all having a fabulous start to the week so far. For Postick these two weeks have been/ are all about Production. I'm lucky to have my friend Gabrielle by my side for the finer details on the printing front. She's the queen of book design and has an incredible sensitivity for type and spaces. So she's been pointing me in the right direction whenever I've had the question-mark floating above my head. Last week we selected the three Pantone colour swatches for the packaging. I'm super excited about it. They are going to look amazing.
I've also been investigating the finer details of postage and it turns out that if I shrink my packaging by a couple of millimeters I avoid paying a lot more on postage so I have done a rough fix but have yet to re-shuffle the design ever so slightly into the right position in order help these little Posticks slide comfortably into a C6 envelope.
I've been sourcing the plastic sleeves, refining the details on sizing and fine-tuning the specs on the adhesive stickiness. Of course the Posticks must stick and stay on most surfaces so I've gone with the strongest adhesive available for maximum enjoyment.
Since the sizes vary between the standard African, European and the standard US photograph I've selected dimensions that accommodate all three and still fit the average postcard size. Our little Posticks will be just the right size: exactly 145mm x 97mm.
Amazon has released the funds today (joy to the world) which means it will take at least another week before the funds are tangible for production. Just the right amount of time for these little ducks to get in a row and from there on it's easy sailing.
In the meantime I'm about to send out a request for your postal addresses through Kickstarter so keep your eyes on your inbox and once the message comes through let me know where you want your awe-inspiring rewards to be sent.
I'm still amazed at the fact that this was just an idea a few months ago and here we are making it happen. Kickstarter rocks. You rock. Thank you.
Hasta la proxima.

Hi Lauren, It's certainly time for an update and I will get to that as soon as I have a moment. I can happily say that the money finally made its way into an accessible account last week Friday which means the race is on. If everything pans out the way i expect it to I will be paying deposits for the printing and label-making this week. I'll explain it in more detail in my update but I estimate that I should have the labels in my hands withing the next four to five weeks. Once I have them I will need to put the packages together, write the postcards and post them. That could take somewhere between one and two weeks in total (and I'm really looking forward to it) I'm estimating that the little packages should get to you within the next two months. I know I estimated for August but it's looking like it might be closer to "in your mailbox" in September some time. Thanks for your enthusiasm! :) I can't wait to have them in my hands and put all your little parcels together!
