About this project
***UPDATE: Hooray! I've reached my goal after only 3 days! There's no reason for the momentum to stop here; with every additional $450 my project receives I can create another book design! Also, all funds I raise over $5000 will go toward a line of alphabet books, one book for each letter of the alphabet! I have so many more ideas for books and suggestions are always welcome! ♥ V
The Project
This Kickstarter campaign will help me launch a line of printed cloth books for babies and kids with a new design released each month as the cloth book of the month. Folks will be able to purchase books individually or subscribe for 3, 6, 9, or 12 months of awesome cloth books.
This project will fund the design and production of a limited run of 50 books in each of 6 designs. These initial designs will include gender-neutral 6-page books in the following themes, exact images to be determined:
- nature
- science
- musical instruments
- birds
- transportation
- mammals
Of these 6 designs 3 will be released in my Etsy shop immediately and 3 in the coming months but as a supporter you may choose from any of the designs I produce with this project immediately.
Some designs I have planned for the coming year include:
- mushrooms
- amphibians
- reptiles
- flowers
- horses
- ferns
- insects
- flags
- woodland animals
- dinosaurs
- ...so, so many ideas!
Subscribers will be told in advance what the topic of the coming book will be and they can opt to replace it with an alternate design if they prefer.
The Process
I will create an original book in each of 6 designs, scan each page to create a digital file to be printed by Spoonflower on 100% organic cotton sateen fabric and create cloth books from this fabric. I use 100% organic cotton batting as well and am very excited to be able to offer an affordable, fully organic version of my books.
I have already begun the design process for this initial set of 6 books and will be ready to submit my order to Spoonflower as soon as my Kickstarter campaign closes. My goal is to have subscriber rewards in the mail no later than December 8 so that they may be given as holiday gifts.
