The Maestro is a story about composer Felix Kruger, a brilliant young classical composer on the brink of creating his masterpiece.
Welcome to "The Maestro" kickstarter page! The film has been completely shot and we are now in post-production. In fact, we currently have the film entirely edited! While it has been very challenging to get to this point, we have been able to meet these challenges head-on with the help of our wonderful cast and crew. It has also been a great personal challenge to find a way to fund the film this far while also helping support my family and lovely new daughter who was born in December of 2009. And because of my growing financial responsibilities, there is just no way I can continue to fund the film myself. So this is where YOU come in!
As writer, producer and director of the film, I am hoping to raise $20,000 which will go toward paying for the costs of post-production, including: sound design, dialogue editing, ADR, color correction, final sound mix, and the symphonic classical music score. As I am also the composer for the film, orchestra demos of some of this music can be heard on the trailer as well as one of the links below. However, it will be re-recorded using real orchestral samples from the Vienna Symphonic Library OR an actual REAL orchestra if in fact we can raise the entire $20,000 and can make a deal with a local orchestra to do so. Click on the following links for demo music cues already written for The Maestro:
Cue 1: (This music plays during one of the major plot points in the film)

Cue 2: (An orchestral song, "Damaged Good," from my theatrical album Lady Industry which again plays during one of the major plot points in the film)

**Please remember that the orchestral demo music on the trailer will be rerecorded and will actually sound like a live orchestra!**
I think you will find The Maestro to be both an entertaining and unique feature film. Since I began writing the screenplay over 3 years ago I have most looked forward to finally being able to show the completed film to you! Now with your support this can become a reality. Any financial support you can give is GREATLY appreciated...and hopefully we can get this film completed in time for submission to both the upcoming Sundance and Cannes film festivals (among others)!
For those of you unfamiliar with Kickstarter, here's how it works: you simply click on the green donation button (contributing anything from $1 to $2000, or more if you want) and it uses your Amazon account (which you can quickly create if you don't already have one) to charge your credit card, just like buying a DVD or anything else. But in this case you get some really cool rewards in the process. However, if we don't reach our $20,000 goal by the time we hit our deadline, you get charged nothing.
Please feel free to email me at david@lundaypictures.com if you have ANY questions regarding the funding of this film!
Thanks so much!
