I deeply, deeply touched by the support that has been pouring in order to help us reach our kick-starter goals. Many of you have been my teachers, co-workers, dear friends and amazing family members. There are so many of you here who have moved me in significant ways - through what you brought to my life and allowed me to bring to yours. And again, even if the illusion of separateness allows us to have our own personalities and experiences - your support reminds me of one of the key lessons I have learned while working on this film - We are never alone, We never have been and never will be - and in the toughest or brightest of circumstances - there are people and forces that will support us - if we just ask. And as one of my teachers tells me even when we don't get what we want - we always get the very best.
I write this not as someone who has always gotten what she wants. You see while I was working on this film - my mom was diagnosed with cancer. I wanted more than anything for her to live - but she didn't... leaving my brother and myself without parents. Somehow, I have this hunch that the very best - can also be the hardest - but also the truest and most expansive of experiences. Ironically, the working title of the film was SEVA: Healing The Mother... and it is about a mother, who sets out to help other Mothers, who's tough lives she can relate to l. What happens in the end - well you'll have to see the film.
Truly and dearly I thank every single one of you from the bottom of my heart for your donations and for who you are! Together we do make a difference. I promise to take the inspiration you have given through your support and pour it into finishing this film - with a hope that our collective actions inspire many more towards happiness.
We have some 30hours and 2.5K to raise! Please continue to root for us, support us, tell your friends and family! And if you have deep pockets - We welcome more donations!
All my Love! Anka
