About this project

As conductors we need to present music that is relevant and engaging to our 21st century listeners.  Although there are a multitude of ways to reach out to these listeners, Digital Embrace will focus on one way in particular: programming works that include electronics

Performing works that combine acoustic and electronic instruments is not a new idea, but it is one large ensembles should be actively pursuing more often.  The availability, cost and ease of use for most of these programs make the logistics of putting on a concert like Digital Embrace easier than it ever has been.  These programs are also more powerful and agile than ever before which enables composers to bring their sonic imagination to life.

The program for the concert:

Augenblick - by Christopher Stark

TWEAK - by Jason Gerraughty  (World Premiere)

Ecstatic Waters - by Steven Bryant

By financially supporting this Kickstarter program, you will be able to help us cover the cost of the literature rental for the pieces on the program and also small incidental expenses that may come up with an event such as this.  Digital Embrace will not only benefit students across multiple disciplines at Peabody, it will also provide a unique experience to the Peabody community and Baltimore as a whole.

Since this concert is outside of the regular concert programs at Peabody and will also fulfill part of my obligations for recitals in the DMA program, the university is unable to help finance outside of the required funding for recitals.  Which is why we are asking for help!

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!  And hopefully I will see some of you there!  If you decide to help fund this project, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

**for those interested in seeing the concert in person, the event is FREE!**

**ANY AMOUNT OF FUNDING OVER THE REQUESTED AMOUNT WILL BE USED TOWARDS A RECEPTION AFTER THE CONCERT FOR THE PERFORMERS, COMPOSERS AND KICKSTARTER BACKERS!!**
