Hello everyone!
First, let me thank you again for the support you've shown me throughout this Kickstarter experience. As of today, Last Alert has been downloaded nearly 5,000 times! I've had a few users tell me it's the best app on their phone, and many have reported that it has helped them recover "lost" devices. (By the way, we'll soon release an update to give you a choice between standard\metric measurement.)
Believe it or not, there were actually TWO unrelated instances where the alert sounded from a basket of dirty laundry, just as the user was about to dump the clothes (and phone) into the washing machine!
The app is not perfect, mainly due to limitations in place by Apple, but it does the job and is actually helping people. All this is thanks to you!
And now for something....Different:
You may remember from a previous post, that I was working on something big for my iOS Development Studio: App-Different. (The studio which, by the way would not exist if it wasn't for your support on the Last Alert project.)
Well, the time has come to unveil our new endeavor: THE KING PONG PROJECT.
More than just another iPhone app, this project is the beginning of an entirely new method of developing apps. Using the crowdsourcing model, each of you can contribute to the design of our new app, KING PONG. -A game designed for playing on the Apple TV, as well as handheld iDevices. Take note that the project is not about this one game, but the building of a development community.
There is much more to this than I can explain here. Suffice to say, my team and I have put a LOT of time and effort into this new project, and I truly feel it could revolutionize app development. I cannot tell you how excited we are to share this idea with you.
I invite you all to take a look at THE KING PONG PROJECT for yourself. I think you'll be impressed with where we are going with this, and I sincerely hope you'll join us for the journey...
Thanks for your time,
Dan Shapley
