About this project
OUR PROJECT
We’ve been working on Outpost Lima since 2008, and we’ve finally been able to bring it to the Kickstarter community. It’s about a military squad that wakes with no recent memory. Hunted by mercenaries, they must trust each other to uncover what happened.
Part of the reason it involves a military squad is that we’ve always held a deep respect for our service men and women and the sacrifice that they are called to in performing their duties. We have been blessed to have Army Veteran SSG Cody Snyder, 2/75 Ranger Regiment as part of our cast and military advisor.
This is a big project for us in scale, time and money which is why we’ve come here for help. Though we are currently in preproduction, we were able to shoot a concept teaser to give you a sense of mood and quality of our work.
OUR GANG
Element Pictures has been involved in the production of short form videos/films since 2003. We’ve primarily done commercials, promos, corporate videos and recently made the leap in the narrative form. We’ve got a great crew that works hard to make experiences (like Outpost Lima) something special.
HOW KICKSTARTER WORKS
Kickstarter is powered by a unique all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully-funded or no money changes hands. In exchange for donations, we provide rewards. The larger the donation, the more rewards we offer for you for being part of our project. Kickstarter works with Amazon.com for the transactions so if you have an account with Amazon, then the whole process should be familiar to you.
WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?
The money will be spent across all areas of production; Permits, insurance, wardrobe, props, food and we do want to pay our actors. We believe strongly in taking care of them as best we can as they give up a lot (time with family, travel etc.) to do what they feel so passionate about.
HOW LONG WILL THE FILM BE?
We expect Outpost Lima to be about 30 to 40 minutes.
WHAT WILL YOU BE SHOOTING WITH?
We plan on using Canon 5Ds, 7Ds, JVC HM100, and a GoPro.
WHEN DO YOU START AND WHAT IS THE EXPECTED DATE OF RELEASE?
If we are successful in fundraising, we hope to start at the end of Spring of this year. We are shooting for a release of January 2013.
