REPAIR MANUAL: AN EXHIBITION (pending exhibition title)

We are a group of students graduating this year on the MA Photography and Urban Cultures within the sociology department at Goldsmiths, University of London in the UK. We are currently in the process of organizing our graduation show which is to take place from the 16th of September till the 3rd of October of this year, at the APT gallery and as part of the Deptford X festival and London Open House Festival in Deptford, London.

The course has proven to be a unique platform for the coming together of a multitude of disciplines, identities, ideas concerning photography and photographic practices. The show will feature the final projects of students on the course and will include photographic prints as well as mixed-media work, installations and projections as well as a choreographic performance. We do not receive any substantial funding from the university thus it is up to us to fund the show ourselves. Therefore we need your help!

The course has functioned as a breeding ground for some amazing, emerging and up and coming talent. We come from near and far and this show is a fantastic opportunity and for some the only time to show our work in the wonderful city of London, so please help make it count for us!

We have secured a little bit of funding so far but we are still around 800 dollars short on our budget! The budget covers costs such as the gallery rent for three weeks, sound equipment and food and drinks for the opening event, printing costs for flyers, posters and a publication, web design and maintenance costs for a website, exhibition events such as workshops, film screenings and round table discussion with invited guest speakers entering in discussion on related urban and photographic issues - in all, a lot!

We'll reward donors with their name mentioned in the exhibition publication, with mystery disposable cameras with surprising limited-edition urban images from the exhibitors, a free publication signed by all the exhibitors, a signed photographic print of choice from one of the exhibitors or an original portrait of the donor by new Thai photographic talent Seng Jariangroj - more details to the right.

We will also be collaborating with MA World Cities and Urban Life students to compose a theoretical framework around the exhibition events in the form of the above mentioned discussions and film screenings.
