Update #1: DJ Spooky and Moby present: Vanuatu Benefit, Nov 9 2010
Hey Amazing Backers,
Much news to share. The Google show, Ancient Stories with New Technology, featuring first works from the Vanuatu project, is up at Google's New York headquarters and I'll do a talk there November 11 (RSVP here: rsvp@chelseaartmuseum.org). Solid strategy around operations and structure for the project are being clarified. Our remote location energy and design/build engineer is set for his December study in Tanna, gearing up to the architectural design competition in 2011!
But first and always, thank you!! Reaching this Kickstarter goal with all of you is a great omen for the milestones to come!
As I write this, the ArtTechTEK Tanna Party is just days away and you're invited (see below)!
You've gotten the project halfway to first round funding. Next Tuesday night, we want to share our vision for Tanna Center for The Arts with a fundraising community ready to take it all the way!

Event Committee co-chairs Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, and and Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth have lined up live performances from Moby with Inyang Bassey, Bajah & the Dry Eye Crew, Bec Stupak of The Joshua Light Show and more special guests.
The center is something that I've thought about a lot - it's all about creating free space and free time - giving artists, scientists, writers, composers, you name it, a place to look at modern life from afar and learn from the Ni-Vanuatu way of living. The residency program will be an open and inclusive forum for dialog not only between the arts and science, but between radically different perspectives on the future,
