A convenient alt-energy revolution causes the near extinction of humanity by regenerating flesh-eating creatures

Video music by Andy Duvall

What is Feaster?

Feaster is an original graphic novel.  The premise of which is that the discovery of a new viable alternative energy source called Latent Terran Energy (LTE) ignites a global energy revolution.  It is cheap, convenient, clean, and widely available.

It is the painless solution to the world’s power problems and it works perfectly until the nightmares begin. Years after the LTE switch, well over half of the worlds population begin to have similar disturbing dreams. In the dream black boils rise on the dreamer’s arms. The boils itch, and as the dreamer scratches, pain stabs and swells. They scratch harder, finally tearing, and, in a frenzied agony, wrench the veins from their body.

One day, after a sudden failure of the LTE system the dreams become reality, transforming most of society into instinctual flesh eating monsters. “Eaters” are agile; they regenerate. Their power is relative to how much and recently they have fed. The hungrier they are the easier they are to kill. The condition is not contagious, however anyone who has the dream regularly will become one.

The Main Characters

Mike Feaster - a mid twenties young man who 'took a break' from college and is employed as a bartender. Given his name I bet you've already guessed that he is the protagonist.  After LTE and Eaters destroy society he becomes a self reliant survivalist vigilante in the lawless wild.

Chris James - a teen living in the suburban neighborhood where the first LTE generator is tested. He comes to be, sort of, a spiritual leader.

Wait, Didn't You Say Something About Ghosts?

Yes they fall down to earth after the Eaters kill everyone.  They are infused with a finite amount of energy they can use to make things grow which makes them highly sought after by communities of survivors as a sort of crop insurance.  They can be from any time period.  Vikings!? Fighting Monks!? YUP!

Why We Need Funding

We need funding to offset the cost of producing artwork.  Billy is a professional contractor and taking off time from work to make this project is a direct loss of income.  Publishing submissions are make or break and I want anything he does to have his full attention.

Yeah, but why should we give it to you?

This is a brand new twist on the post-alternative-energy-apocalypse wilderness vigilante monster-slaying survival genre.  Not zombies, not vampires, not werewolves, but something new--dark not dreary.  There are supernatural beings and events but nothing is all-powerful.

What You Get

Aside from the joy of altruism and being able to introduce yourself as a philanthropist?

There are exciting rewards for all levels of backers be it buttons or a debut likeness of yourself.  Know that when you are donating you are helping a hard working talented team achieve a dream.

That being said, the publication process is a tricky one. No one wants this to happen faster than we do.  As soon as this is published your copy will be sent.  IF the project should be rejected (and it won't because its kick ass) I fully intend to explore alternative publishing routes.
