--- We're going to make a movie about something that matters. Come join us!
--- The story? Ayn Rand is an accessory to murder in a Hitchcockian tale about a young economics professor, his artist wife, and a homeless youth found living on campus.
--- At its core, 'Hide Fox' is about what we lose when indifference enters the conflict between an entrenched dogma, and those things that really matter.
--- Our movie dares to question Ayn Rand's influential philosophy of self interest.
--- An observation:
Ayn Rand = self-interest + a rejection of altruism.
Kickstarter = community + altruism.
--- BUT we're making a movie, not a political statement. Our job is to tell you a story. In fact, the first line of our movie is, 'A long time ago...'

--- The total budget for our film is $350,000. While this sounds like a lot, in movie terms it's really quite tiny. Whatever we don't raise here, we'll raise through investors.
--- If we surpass our fundraising goal, we'll be able to make a better film.
--- Our goal is to shoot the movie this winter, with a rough edit in spring 2011.

James Lantz is a playwright and award-winning filmmaker. He has made over 200 commercial films for clients such as MCI, American Airlines, Alamo Rental Cars, and American Express. As a playwright, his plays have been called "extraordinary," "powerful" and "a joy" by the Vermont press. He resides in Burlington, Vermont with his wife, two sons and a dog named Rufus.
