Update #14: We (YOU) did it! Now for prizes!
Hello all! And thank you!!! You 97 wonderful people, you.
Here's how it works now: your payment method will be debited sometime between now and Monday(ish). We'll have the money in our account by roughly September 14. Frank and I are going to order the materials on Monday.
The private Soft Opening event will be 8p-12a on Saturday, October 2, at FrankenSound's Warehouse, so you can come see what you helped create. All the prizes will be available that night and anything not picked up by guests will be mailed within the following week.
You'll be contacted via e-mail, shortly, with a request for your mailing address.
We'll keep you updated on the project and other opportunities as the Soft Opening draws nearer.
Thank you all for making this possible! Thank you for contributing! Every bit, big and small!
Thanks so much for spreading the word! Especially the people who spread the word hard, like Steve Bove (Home News Tribune, Metromix.com), Jeff Raspe (90.5 The Night), Gary Wien (NewJerseyStage.com), Eddie Trunk (Q104.3, VH1 Classic's "That Metal Show"), April Smith, and members of Guns N' Roses, Thursday, and Bouncing Souls (all with ties to New/North Brunswick).
We'll be in touch!
Update #13: FIRE SALE! (Backers ONLY)
Update #12: 12% to go!
Another update? I know, they're getting more frequent, but it ends TODAY!!!
Moment of truth, folks. Will we or won't we make it?
The soft opening party is scheduled for October 2. Pledge $50 and you'll receive an invite (plus 1) to the event, DJed by 90.5 The Night's Jeff Raspe, and featuring FOOD...and a performance by Logs in the Mainstream.
I'm at a loss. I don't know what else to say. Just PLEASE spread the word, pledge what you can afford, and make this happen. Please.
(don't forget that if you up a donation from before Aug 18 to the next pledge level, your prize will be doubled!)
Update #11: One day left...SOOOO close! Help us get over the hump.
In case you were waiting for the last minute to make a contribution to this amazing project, this is your official reminder:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1408765563/frankensounds-warehouse
If the kickstarter account closes tomorrow and we haven't hit our funding goal, we get nothing...so PLEASE scrape together a few bucks and pitch in. It all helps, and each contribution comes with a slew of prizes!
Please repost this link anywhere and everywhere you can!
Backers who come on board this week will receive, in addition to their prize selected, all the weekly prizes thus far, which include: a Logs in the Mainstream CD, a 3-pack of stickers, an invitation to perform hand claps in FrankenSound's studio on his song, "Maybe Means No," and a $25 BookSwim.com (like Netflix, but for books) gift card.
Update #10: Seagulls in Wal-Mart & how to DOUBLE your prize!
Update #9: Kiddie Pool full of Banana Pudding video (Backers ONLY)
Update #8: Dodgeball Firing Squad video - Backers ONLY!
We did it! Another week, another goal met, thanks to all of you!
Enjoy the video of Intern Anderson getting pelted with a firing squad of dodgeballs and spread the word to help us make this week's goal of $1200 by 11:59pm Tuesday night to see Intern Pagan get into a kiddie pool full of banana pudding!
I just bought the pudding.
This week's prize: Anyone who has contributed by the end of Tuesday will get to come into the recording studio with me and perform hand claps on my song, "Maybe Means No".
Only three weeks left!
Update #7: Home News Tribune article TODAY (dodgeball firing squad looking likely)
Thanks to everyone who's spreading the word, our local paper, the Home News Tribune (like the Asbury Park Press, but for Middlesex) is running an article about FrankenSound's Kickstarter project TODAY (Friday, July 30). Grab a copy and find us on page 8 of the Pulse section.
As of right now, we are 1/3 of the way toward this week's funding goal. Hopefully you've enjoyed the pie-in-the-face video and this newspaper article pushes us along to raise the funding we need to subject Intern Anderson to a firing squad of dodgeballs.
You spreading the word is what makes this project happen. And what makes it fun! Post http://kickstarter.com/projects/1408765563/frankensounds-warehouse to your facebook, twitter & tumblr; e-mail your friends and family; text casual acquaintances; share the love! (seriously, do not bogart the lovin')
Look out for Tuesday's backers-only video if we hit this week's funding goal! And enjoy our picture in the paper!
Update #6: We did it! Pie in the FACE! (Backers ONLY)
Update #5: Almost ready for pie-in-the-face fun!
We're just $232 away from meeting this week's $800 goal, and then it'll be WHAM...pie in the face! It's all adding up, big and small.
Check out the teaser video at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1408765563/frankensounds-warehouse/posts/21929 if you haven't seen it already.
And don't forget that, if we meet this week's goal, not only do we pie Intern Alex in the face in a backers-only video, but all of our backers who pledged before this coming Monday night all get a copy of the new Logs in the Mainstream album, "The Ridiculous and the Sublime."
Please spread the kickstarter link (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1408765563/frankensounds-warehouse) to anyone/everyone you can (e-mail, facebook, text message, twitter, tumblr, screaming from rooftops), and stay tuned for Tuesday's backers-only video to see if we made it (and watch an intern take a pie to the face for the team).
Update #4: New backers-only weekly video & weekly prizes
Starting this week, FrankenSound has weekly goals, weekly prizes, and weekly intern humiliation.
This week (through Mon, July 26, at 11:59pm), our goal is to raise $800. IF we do this, then two things will happen:
1. All backers to date will get a copy of the latest album by Frank's band - Logs in the Mainstream - "The Ridiculous and the Sublime."
2. Intern Alex will get pied in the face. For reals.
Expect a new video next Tues, viewable ONLY to backers, where you'll see whether Alex gets pied.
Prizes will accumulate, so the sooner you contribute, the more prizes you will amass by the end of our Kickstarter project.
Update #3: See how the venue looks!
Yesterday, Laura took some great pictures in and around the venue that we're hoping will run in a local newspaper. Here is how the venue will look set up (minus the metal sheets on the side walls and the curtains on the back wall, which we still need)..jpg)
Also, starting this coming week, we're going to start releasing new fun videos and prizes exclusively to backers, so encourage your friends to get involved by posting a link on your facebook, twitter, tumblr, a mass e-mail, a bathroom wall, or just drive around Blues-Brothers-style with a bullhorn.
Update #2: Perforated metal sheets (the stuff we need to buy)
Frank, intern Alex and I all went out to Pennsylvania today to look at perforated metal sheets (the material we intend to cover the walls with). Times were good. We saw the sheets we want (16 gauge metal, 1/4" diameter holes...depicted below). They're 8'x4' and we need 32 of them. Now we wait for the quote to come in and keep our fingers crossed that maybe it's a little lower than the old quote from our General Contractor.
The things that will cost money in this project are:
1. Buying perforated metal sheets
2. Removing the grease from the sheets
3. Painting the sheets (maybe)
4. Shipping the sheets
5. Buying the mounting brackets
6. Installing the metal sheets
Expect more news around Monday(ish). For now, please pass this link along to everyone you can. And thanks for being such a kind, caring, and all-around good looking person!

Update #1: Welcome to the project!
Wow! FrankenSound has been at work for more than five months now, building our brand new, all-ages music venue. But things have kind of come to a screeching halt now that we're oh-so-close to being finished. Our project profile tells the story of our little - how you call it - speedbump.
You'll be able to follow our slow-but-steady progress on this last piece of the Warehouse's construction right here in the Kickstarter.com updates. Stay tuned to read about how Frank and Eric do, shopping for perforated metal panels, in Thursday's update. I swear it's more exciting than it sounds.
Is this thing moving too slowly? We agree! Contribute to the project on our project profile to speed up the process.
Oh, and post a link to http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1408765563/frankensounds-warehouse on your facebook, twitter, etc., to spread the word like jelly on toast.
