The urban life of Hong Kong's food. Solo exhibit in NYC.
While researching food culture in Hong Kong in Jan. 2010, I was inspired by the striking display of food that saturated a city. "Hong Kong Foodscapes" communicates a rich culinary tradition throughout a modern urban marketplace.
Upon my return, I submitted my photographs to the James Beard Foundation's Greenhouse Gallery and was selected to exhibit my work in a solo show for the months of January and February 2011. This is a great honor, as the James Beard Foundation invites 6 artists a year to occupy their space. Through this show, I hope to educate and translate the foodways of a culture halfway around the world, in an equally thriving urban center.
That said, artist funding is required to cover all costs affiliated with the opening of my show. Money will be used for (large format) printing, mounting, and framing 12-15 photographs. t Basically, the more I raise the more I can show!
Thanks so much,
