One week left!!!
Hey backers and urban farming fans,
We're entering our last week of this fundraising campaign and we're (only) around half-way to our $15,000 goal. The recent Buffalo News and Buffalo Spree articles were a great help, but we're really going to need to make full-court press to get the rest of the way there.
If we don't manage to make it all the way to $15,000, then we won't get any of the more than $7,000 already pledged by you wonderful folks. That's why we need everyone that believes in this project to get as many of their friends and family on board as possible. Tell your kids, tell your wife, tell your husband they're composting everything on the East Side!
In farm news, the folks at Michigan Avenue Farm have been busy prepping more beds, worm-shaped and otherwise, into a delightful and hopefully abundant garden that will be just as much of a pleasure to walk through as it will be to eat from. Photographs of the new beds will be coming soon to the Farmer Pirates website.
With the help of George Kappelt, a farmer in Lockport, the farmers at Common Roots turned over and tilled their nearly three acres last week, and now they're busy planting spinach.

Thanks again so much for all of your support! We're in the home stretch now and I'm sure with all of your help, we are going to get there and really blow up the composting spot!
