About this project
"Souvenirs from the Other Side of Here" is the first full length record from the ultra attractive Chicago based band, Machinegun Mojo. It is the culmination of 6 months of writing and hundreds of hours spent in a sweaty studio on the seventh floor of an old spice factory in Chinatown, Chicago. The goal of the record was to not only create a timeless piece of music, but to also drag the listener through a parallel reality of America's past, present, and future. Voiced through the individual stories of the characters you meet along the way, the themes and melodies of each song intertwine to push the story forward until you return home with nothing more than pockets full of cheap souvenirs and the unnerving sense of never having left.

We believe we have created something special with this record, but we need your help to get it completed. We have two of the tracks completed (DOWNLOAD THEM AT http://www.machinegunmojo.com/fwdmasters.zip) and are working on the other nine right now. Making this record has been a very long process and we have racked up hundreds of hours in the studio to get it all done.
Up until now, we have been paying for this record out of our own pockets, but our pockets are now bare, and we really need to eat and pay our power bills. Unfortunately so does our engineer and producer. So please help out if you can. We are positive you will not be disappointed.
With the money we raise on kickstart we will be able to:
-pay off our producer
-have the record mastered
-have it pressed to CD
-get it up on all of the internet music retailers
-and possibly be able to buy ourselves a decent meal that is not from a drive thru dollar menu
We have a lot of great rewards lined up for you and any little bit you can donate is GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thank you all very much for your time and consideration. Making this record is nothing short of a dream for all those involved, and we owe it to all of you for helping that dream become a reality.
Please stay tuned for more updates and from all of us in Machinegun Mojo,
THANK YOU!!!!!!

Machinegun Mojo is a group of Chicago based musicians formed in 2009. Through their songs, Machinegun Mojo devours your reality and wraps your mind in a warm blanket of what once was, what could have been, and what may never come to be...and obviously bacon. The stories they tell are murals of Americana while blending rock and roll, folk, and psychedelia into beautiful landscapes in which their characters live and die.
