I'm a full-time photography and journalism teacher at a local high school, where students teach me new things every day. I'm passionate about giving teens a voice and showing them that they really can change the world in which they live.
Go Bunnies! I am so proud of your hard work and great promotion of this project! I can't wait to see the finished products. Have fun and really enjoy this from start to finish. :)
I am so proud to have been one of the first backers! This will be a wonderful project and I can't wait to see all the photos. Congratulations to all of the students who are working so hard and especially to Mr. Zegelis for being a teacher who is willing to go the extra mile for his students.
I'm so happy to see this goal was met! Simply awesome. Congratulations!
Hi Mr. Zegelis,
I am visiting my parents from Maui, HI and just read an article on your project in the Omaha World Herald. I think that what you are doing is precious. You are giving these kids a way to to express their feelings with purpose and passion. I make my living as a photographer and my passion lies in capturing the real moments in life, good and bad. If you need any help in any way, please contact me at kellie@kelliehatcher.com.
Great job!!

As a Benson alum -- Class of 2001 -- I can't wait to see the results of this project. There's so much more to Benson and the community than what is usually shown in the media. It will be great to see how the students showcase that.
Mr. Zegelis,
I just contributed to the project. I think this is a terrific idea. I'd also like to offer you some additional resources. I'm the director of University Relations at UNO. In my department, I have an amazing campus photographer and another amazing videographer. Me? I can't shoot anything worth a darn, but I know my staff would enjoy helping your students in any way you see fit. My UNO email is tkaldahl@unomaha.edu.
Good job and good luck!

What an awesome project- this is what has needed to happen. So proud to be an alumni of Benson.
Hoping all you backers will spread the word to help out with this impt project. Jerred has a long way to go to hit the $10K goal or none of our support will happen. Post on your FB, or email friends you know will be inclined to give to such an impt cause.
Such a cool project. I hope you meet your $10K goal. My son Reed let me know about your important project. I also just now shared it on my FB page and have added a pledge. My best to you! I grew up in West Central Iowa, just 100 miles from Omaha. I live in Mpls now but would love to make it to the students' show in the spring.
This is a great project. I shared it on my FB page and put in my pledge. I will do my best to spread the word. Thank you for the great work you do!
Dan - thanks so much for your comment! Yes, beyond Kickstarter anyone can help us out by sending their donation to:
Benson High School - Journalism Department
5120 Maple Street
Omaha, NE 68104
We can send back a receipt listing it as a donation to the school. I've already had someone donate a camera for the students, which is awesome.
Thanks for your help!
Great work so far! Keep the updates coming. I wonder if the students could craft a message that supporting this project can some how be connected to the season of giving. You all are giving so much to the community. Also, are there ways that people can support this beyond Kickstarter? Can someone hand off cash or a check?
