Kickstarter

Hey Everyone,  (Sorry in advance for the lengthy update, There are photos towards the end!)

The past week has been a very busy week.  I do have some very good news for everyone.  Last week, I dropped off the posters to Mallard and Pops Printing.  They had given me a timeline of two weeks. But then I got a call the other day saying the order has been completed and ready to be picked up!  

I excitedly drove to Mallard and Pops on Quarry Street, Fall River, MA, as fast as my Toyota Yaris could take me, (which according to my friends isn't that fast, but I digress.)  I was greeted by Kathy, the point person I've been in contact with since the inception of the project, and she had two large boxes.  I paid the invoice, and eagerly grabbed the box.  Unbeknownst to me, the box weighed nearly 75 lbs. and I nearly dropped the package, and threw my back out in the process.

The prints are incredible. They are printed on very heavy coated cover stock.  I cannot express how  impressed I am with the quality of these posters.  The colors are vivid, the lines are sharp, and everything about it looks exactly as I had illustrated.  I cannot thank Mallard and Pops Printing enough, and I would urge anyone in the South Coast of Massachusetts with printing needs to frequent their business.  I know I look forward to using their services for future projects.

This update is monumental for me.  When I started this project, I wasn't sure of the levity and scope of everything.  When I unloaded 1000 posters and 1800 postcards, it hit me. To see the physical product of my endeavors brought to life by the backers of this project, I was overwhelmed with excitement.  This is what we aimed for.  These are part of the results of everyone's handwork to get us here.  The final part will be the actual art festival.

We're a week away from the Narrow's Festival, and there is still a little bit of work to be done.  I have recruited help from Albert Pelletier to help build a display stand.  Which by the way, is very wonderfully built.  After we had built it, an impromptu art viewing took place by the neighbors, and that was really cool! One gentleman who also backed this project was asked which poster was his favorite.  His answer: "I don't really know.  I've changed my mind 4 times within the past 10 minutes."  I have also commissioned fellow backer and ukulele builder extraordinaire Paul Testoni, to build a postcard rack, and I'm very pleased with the results. I cannot thank him enough for his help!

NEXT:

I'm waiting on the stickers to arrive, I anticipate I will have them tomorrow.  I am also waiting on my "Made in Fall River" labels, and once they are in, I will begin numbering, signing, and labeling the posters.

For Backers

I'm still waiting on a few more surveys to be returned, once I obtain everyone's information, I will be sending a "Round 2" print order to Mallard and Pops of the Backer Series Posters.  The sooner I get everyone's info, the sooner I can be able to get them to the printer and then send them out to everyone.
