Congratulations! Newburgh is a special place near to my heart, and I'm happy to see a project celebrating its beauty and people.

Caroline commented to me on Facebook that "one of the most surprising aspects of this whole endeavorer is how people who work in the school systems understand this project on a whole other level." Photography was one of my first loves and I now work in an inner city high school in Austin, Texas. I think that those who work with kids, especially teenagers, get to know what is under the surface. Like all great portrait photographers, Dmitri's images bring out something of his subjects' inner essence, which is what educators strive to do as well. I think everyone should give something to this project. Art can change attitudes and lives, and this exhibit will!
