Photo-main

Le Vero is a bright new glittering accessories brand I have started in Tokyo sharing inspiration between the US and Japan.

I have been working as a designer in Tokyo for two years.  One year ago I began designing the 2 collections for the first season of Le Vero.  I have a strong background in fabrication so all models were first made by hand in a clever variety of materials.

I worked with Japanese manufactures to produce all of the samples.  The people I am working with are extremely attentive to detail and capable of producing to a level of craft of my standards...which are high!

Production in Japan is expensive.  In the beginning a brand's quantities are low because you don't have many customers yet.  This makes the products more expensive.  For this reason I have chosen 4 pieces from the collection to begin.

This is where you come in.  I would be so pleased if you like my concept and would help me to get them produced.  In return I will send you the designs from Tokyo.  Shipping from Japan is included in the cost.  I have big dreams for this brand as I have been planning it basically for ten years.  So any additional funds raised will go in to making an outstanding booth at the Rooms Show, a show to meet buyers and fans during Japanese fashion week.  My dream for my booth and for future pop up shops is to incorporate parts from abandoned amusement parks.  There are many of them all over Japan; they are called Haikyo.  Ask, and I will be thrilled to share photos and links about Haikyo.

Le Vero is colorful, fun, often funny.  It draws inspiration from Brooklyn, NY, Baltimore, MD, and lots from Tokyo.  For now I have designed a collection of small well functioning pieces for people who are constantly adding to their apparel collection.  And the Japanese omiyage is for me to share my favorite things from Tokyo with you.  Please keep in mind I have included shipping from Tokyo in these pledge amounts!!

Thank you for your interest sincerely from my heart: )  If you like, please support Le Vero with a pledge or share the project on Twitter or Facebook.

FAQ

  • It is!!  I started the project one year ago.  Making samples, photo shooting, ect. took a long time, a long FUN time!  But alas, we need your help to launch the first ever line of production.  You will get it first, then we will move on to our Japanese friends.

  • Yes, dad, I am!  It is my dream to work on Le Vero in both Tokyo and New York, where I went to design school.  I want to pass inspiration between both cities...later the rest of the world.

  • I can, but poorly.  I have a lot of help for many amazingly brilliant bi-lingual Japanese people for Le Vero to be a success.

  • I am going to choose totally different ones for everyone.  Same with the omiyage.  But I know all the good places to look.

  • Wow, I'd LOVE to!  Thanks for asking!

    1. Once the Discovery Channel sent me to California for final auditions for Mythbusters.  But I lost it to a girl who had TV experience on some show called Extreme 4 x 4's ;(  Howev, I think I won the "build challenge" part of the audition when I asked for a center punch and not only did they not have one, some people on the crew didn't know what it was.

    2. I went to school in Denmark to learn glassblowing.

    3. Both of my uncles and my dad own a small business, and so did my grandfather.  I think it is genetic or something.

    4. I spent the earthquake under my friend Tomoko's desk hugging each other and screaming.  Then we went to eat Yaki Nikku.

    5. When I lived in Baltimore City our house was raided by the police at 3:00am.  In full gear they pushed in our door.  After they destroyed the place they received a phone call and told us they had the wrong house.

    6. Once in SOHO I waited on Ralph Finnes and I called him Lord Voldemort.

    7. I'm from Dundalk.  That's not amazing unless you know Dundalk.

    8. Once I was secretly admitted to enter the Pantheon hours before it opened all alone.  My firend told me you can see traces from star's paths on the floor, but I think that's bunk.

    9. In New York I was tested and certified to oversee oxy-acetelene welding operations.

10.Tokyo is my favorite city in the world and I have seen a few!
