About this project
We are really excited to begin production on our first full length and professionally produced album! This May we will be travelling up to Wolfville, Nova Scotia where we will be working with Ryan Roberts (formerly of Special Consensus, winner of Songwriter of the Year in the Eastern Canadian Bluegrass Awards, and Owner of Perfect Pitch Productions) to record some really exciting new music!
This spring will mark the end of Chasing Blue being a band of students, and we will be hitting the road full time as Berklee College of Music Graduates. Through the past year we have all matured as musicians and people, something that will definitely be reflected in the songwriting and musical performances that are going to be featured on the CD.
Our last EP was released in February 2011 at the Joe Val Music Festival hosted by the Boston Bluegrass Union. This CD was a short 6 original track EP recorded by some great friends in a few thrown together studios in apartments throughout Boston. The EP did great and was featured with very positive reviews on internet blogs, Bluegrass Unlimited and a spot on the shelves at Austin's famous Waterloo Records Shop. As the band is moving to a full time operation in May we really need to amp up our product, as the goal is to achieve satellite radio air-play, get placement in more stores throughout Canada and the USA, and offer our fans the very best recording quality possible!

Chasing Blue came together in the fall of '08 at a bluegrass ensemble at Berklee College of Music. Band members hail from across the United States and Canada, and now reside in Boston, MA and gig heavily in the New England festival circuit. Chasing Blue is plays a mix of original and traditional bluegrass material with unique arrangements and hard-driving style. Original material holds true to the bluegrass tradition but strong lyrical ideas and progressive musical ideas make the Chasing Blue sound.
