      Irawan -

Mail Pilot hooks up with your email service provider's trash folder. For example, on Gmail, you will find deleted messages in "[Gmail]/Trash" for 30 days.

You can navigate to this folder in Mail Pilot by tapping the source list button in the top left, selecting the account, and selecting the trash or deleted folder.

Update: Gotta give credit where it is due. Despite the initial disappointing email exchange, the team did get back to me with a valid redeem code to solve the issue. Do appreciate the generally speedy response.

I got mine setup this morning. So far enjoying it. I just hooked up one GMail account and it seems to be working. I did have a few crashes to iOS-top when I was trying to move a message from the "setAside" back to the INBOX. I ended up having to do it manually in GMail. I also noticed how it makes folders in my GMail to store everything (snazzy!) although it would be nice if they nested instead of just having slashes in them:

      MailPilot/Completed
      MailPilot/ReviewLists...
      MailPilot/ReviewLists...
      MailPilot/ReviewOn...
      MailPilot/ReviewOn...
      MailPilot/SetAside...

It seems I can just hide them when created, but it means I would need to hide one for each day when they are created for any day I postpone a message. Perhaps there is a way to either make them nest, or make them pre-set to hidden when created.

Loo - The window to download is controlled by the iTunes Store that your account is connected to (based on country). We're sorry that the window did not line up with your local time!

We have sent a code to your email to download it without charge. It should arrive to your inbox shortly.

Have received a disappointing email from Mr Josh after I emailed in for assistance.

The link I received led me to a version of the app which required payment. This was definitely within the stipulated timing, as evidenced by the timing of my email.

Instead, all I received was a one-liner: "The app was only free between the hours of 12:01 AM and 11:59 PM on Wednesday April 10th your local time."

Not only did Mr Josh not bother to clarify and got the facts wrong (my local timing was definitely before 11:59 PM), his reply offered no advice whatsoever as to what can be done.

Even assuming that the error was on my part, I would have expected a more helpful response from the staff towards backers of the project. This is not a good sign of service or professionalism at all.

The above was my experience and I want to share it here in case anyone else faces the same situation.

      Hi,

I've managed to get the iPhone App but not the iPad App (I get a popup with the message ix.ApplicationNotCompatible.WarningTitle ix.ApplicationNotCompatible.SoftwareUpdateDescription).

I've managed to get a Yahoo account set up but none of my IMAP accounts worked. I just get "Could not log into account .... Unknown error code."

Playing around with the TLS options eventually got me in.

First account (my work account) it said it couldn't create folders - yet I can on my desktop mail account - no IMAP path is needed either. Now that I have one account set up I will see if I can manually recreate the needed folders.

My personal email account (on my own domain) eventually got connected after much fuss. So now I have some emails to try the app with.

      Initial
      - it should use a custom keyboard for entering account setup data - need easy access to '.' and '.com etc'

      - fo rIMAP accounts it would be better to enter and check the basic IMAP settings first, get these working and then enter SMTP settings. Presently I have to enter in all settings and then try.

      - it would be better to save incomplete account data so it can be fixed/changed later once settings can be corrected - I have entered all the settings far to many times.

      - If I get a login fail the only option is 'Retry' - it needs an 'Edit' button. Currently I have to jump out and re-enter ALL the settings again. [I have discovered that if I go to Airplane mode it stops trying and I can then edit the settings]

      - In the list of accounts - the account name is the login name of the account. It should the email address (but preferably should be configurable)

      - I pressed Feedback, a new empty, pre-addressed email came up. I didn't want to send it so I pressed the 'x' at top left. A dialog box came up 'Clear' or 'Cancel'. I pressed 'Cancel' but that cancelled the dialog box. I pressed 'Clear' but that cleared the pre-entered address/subject. I can't find a way to delete the email that I don't want to send!!

      - The only way get rid of the empty email was to send it so I sent a test email to myself. The email had the correct name but the account was 'from' my user name, not my email address.

      All the best.

Yes. I think we need to give this a little more time. I understand there will be some issues here and there but nonetheless, "Service Unavailable" error while writing an email means I can't use it at all for the moment. So, I plan to wait hopefully this should become more reliable.

The UI looks very nice and it was working quite well initially, ran into a few problems today but then I read the tutorial before I started using Mail Pilot where they strongly advised you forward mail to Mail Pilot and not use it as your actual mail client since it's a Beta release, ergo I didn't lose any mail.... Looking forward to trying the other features when they get rolled out

    39. Missing_small

Creator Michael Dillon on June 28, 2012

Vaivhav, with all do respect, the points you bring up were clearly covered in the tutorial screen. They clearly said its not ready for everyday use.

    40. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Vaibhav Kanwal on June 27, 2012

Hmm, although there are performance issues and I understand that this is a beta product.
I am a bit unhappy at how my email got lost today while composing a reply and in the middle suddenly I had the following error come up "Service Unavailable"
      Screenshot - http://proxy.vaibhavkanwal.com/462M371p1R1M3I3I2m3V

Not cool if I have rewrite my email after I was half-way through.

So, I think I will come back to Mail Pilot once a supposed "Release Candidate" is ready, for now it seems to risky to do actual work.

Guys, I figure you've already learned this lesson but be careful what you post as an update as it generates expectation. I've found that if you're clear and concise and communication when you KNOW there's a problem (within hours not days) then it generally keeps people much more appreciative and not frustrated. :)
