WHAT IS A BA?:

"The Bachelor of Arts is a flexible liberal arts degree offering an extensive knowledge of theatre arts. The program, offering a balance of theatre core classes and electives, allows students the freedom to design their own curriculum." -Florida State University, official website

THE GOAL:

The 2012 BA Senior Class would like to be the FIRST BA class at Florida State University to present their peers, instructors, and colleagues with a Senior Showcase! These past four years we have all gained an endless amount of knowledge and experience, and what better way to celebrate our journey's end than sharing it with the people we care for most.

WHAT THE SHOWCASE INVOLVES:

Unlike the typical Showcase that caters to strictly performers, our Showcase will involve the many different theatre concentration found here at FSU! 

Lighting, Direction, Stage Management, and Playwriting will also be huge contributing parts of what we are trying to accomplish with our Showcase. And along with all the previous things mentioned, of course performances (duet scenes, monologues, stage combat, musical numbers, dance, etc.) will be presented during the Showcase.

We have each individually worked and prepared on our given tasks (whether it be performance/stage management/production) and hope to come together to create a great night of Theatre that represents growth and new beginning as we move out into the REAL WORLD!

HOW YOU ARE HELPING:

The BA Senior Showcase (April 16th and 17th--two days!) won't be receiving any funding from FSU, so we are trying to cover the basic costs of:

- a Pianist (for rehearsal and performance dates)

- Marketing (posters, programs, etc.)

- Set Pieces and Equipment to accommodate our Stage (The Richard G. Fallon Theatre is the School of Theatre’s largest performance space with seating for over 490. This traditional proscenium theatre recently underwent renovations to its electrical, power, and lighting systems which now provide the support for intelligent lighting systems, new projection systems, and more.)
