Introducing Slow Burn a comic about a man with a past in a world full of monsters. Jake is working a truly dead end job - the disposal of the corpses of ravening Ghouls and their victims - while trying to run from a past he dare not share or look back on.

This book originated as an exercise in a local writer's group. It evolved into a near-apocalyptic world with a dark anti-hero at its center. Co-written by Ashley Mearns and Sarah Markley, based on a concept by Ashley Mearns and all art by Sarah Markley!

Sarah spent three years in Western Washington University's New Media/Graphic Design program and was accepted to the senior new media program, she then entered Digipen where she graduated with a BFA in Production Animation/Art. Her passion lies in video game concept art. She has several years worth of previous work experience in the field, including various freelance art assignments as well as a part-to-full time position at Exato Game Studios for their first title, "Progenitor" which will be demoed at E3. She also recently created a character concept piece for Riot Games. She has also performed contract work for Motus Digital which included storyboards for a music video, concept art for a TV show pitch, and concepts for a movie pitch.

Ashley has been a lifelong reader and a part time writer. She spent four years in the USAF as an F-16 Crewchief and one in the USAF Reserve as a C-17 Crewchief. She has worked a variety of unusual jobs including working at a funeral home. Her most recent written work can be found in the comic book Nightmares of the Macabre: The Improbable Apocalypse You Never Saw Coming, which is an adaptation of her short story by the same name.
