This feature documentary celebrates some of the most memorable characters of favorite classic films: the cars.
Picture Cars is a fun-filled and exciting look at the iconic vehicles featured in movies and television. These cars become characters in their own right, and this documentary will show their driving influence on pop culture while exploring the behind-the-scenes challenges that help create these memorable machines.
Picture Cars celebrates these historic and famous vehicles through first hand interviews and conversations from stuntmen, car designers, industry professionals, enthusiasts, and celebrities. Interviews we are working to secure include: George Lucas, John Landis, John Carpenter, Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Jerry Seinfeld, Patrick Dempsey, Guillermo del Toro, Jon Favreau and Jay Leno.
We were also granted access to Ted Moser and the staff at Picture Car Warehouse, the premiere creator of vehicles which have been featured in movies such as: Looper, Men in Black 3, X-Men: First Class, The Town, Tower Heist, Little Miss Sunshine, In Time, Lincoln Lawyer, Grindhouse, Taxi, 2 Fast 2 Furious, XXX, State of the Union, Mad Men, Magic City, True Blood, and Dexter.

The inspiration for Picture Cars is deeply personal, rooted in the filmmakers' special childhood memories…
"I'll never forget seeing the movie Bullitt for the first time when I was just five-years-old. Bullitt was different than the Disney-type movies I had seen before - this was a guy's movie - and it made a huge impression on me. As a young boy, I dreamed of being like Steve McQueen, chasing the bad guys in a badass Highland-Green ’68 Mustang Fastback. And as years passed, I became aware that thousands of people also shared my love for that movie and especially that car. So much so that Ford has since made two special editions of the Bullitt Mustang to commemorate the automobile's popularity… I should know, I own a 2001 version."
"Watching TV when I was growing up, I was a huge fan of superheroes and their iconic cars - most notably Batman's Batmobile and The Green Hornet's Black Beauty. I thought they were the coolest cars I'd ever seen. I could tell you in minute detail the purpose of all the cool gadgets and options in the cars and how they were utilized in all the TV episodes."
"We discovered that a lot of people - most of which were far from being so-called 'gear heads' - had similar stories about a famous movie or TV car. And soon, we realized that there was a strong connection between man and machine - that these cars went beyond being mere props - that they somehow transcended their utilitarian purposes and become characters in their own right. And it was this realization that inspired us to share this enthusiasm and tell this story."
