40 Under 40:Craft Futures Exhibition- Smithsonian. Raising support for live models that are integral to the success of my work.
My artwork will be exhibited in the 40 Under 40: Craft Futures Exhibition at Renwick Gallery of The Smithsonian American Art Museum. Live models are an integral part of my artwork. I am searching for funding to support this amazing opportunity.
The live interaction between the viewer and the model in my work is as important as the objects I create. These interactions bring to light our culture's use of sexual and social roles to limit and label one another.
I have successfully raised my goal amount in 24 hours! This is beyond what I ever thought could happen and I am so thankful for this outpouring of support! One question that I have been asked is - What will you do with any money you make past your goal?
With the money I raise beyond my goal I will pay for my airplane ticket to the show and beyond that I will donate the rest to support the exhibition.
