Update #3: You've done it!

Posted on September 9, 2010

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this fundraiser for a show of student work from Truth With A Camera. We received two very special, anonymous, donations that have put us over the top. All of us at Truth With A Camera sincerely thank you for your generosity. The show is in the finishing stages of being hung and includes over 100 amazing, thought provoking and inspiring photographs by our students. The show will open to the public on September 18th at the Visual Arts Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. We hope that all of you can attend. Again, thank you!

~Chris

Update #2: 5 days out

Posted on September 7, 2010

What tremendous support. We at Truth With a Camera and the Edom Foundation can't thank you all enough for your generous gifts. The show has actually been printed because we know we'll make that goal in the next five days. It looks amazing and is being hung as we speak. Josh Meltzer just finished editing a movie that will play as part of the show, showing the students in action in Guadalajara and Quito.

Even though we feel confident we'll make our goal, please continue to help us as we count down the final days. If we don't reach the goal in the time frame, we receive none of the pledges.

Please share the links around and have a super day!

Update #1: 1/3 of the way there! Thank you for your support!

JOSEPH SMOOKE, San Francisco, CA

“A number of years ago I made the decision to merge my photographic work with my professional work. At home in San Francisco, I am the Director of a non profit (Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center) serving youth, seniors, and families; developing affordable housing; and building the power of those who are disenfranchised. My interest in Truth With a Camera is to continue this work of bringing dignity, support, and power to those most in need. We also have the opportunity to build the strength of the organizations working in these communities of need for lasting impact. To do this through photography and building relationships has the most potential for bringing truth to light.”
