Hmm. I don't see why you couldn't, however, _do_ something for Haiti, if you want to direct some share of the proceeds to Haiti. After all, the projects _are_ allowed to be edited (http://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq#CanProjBeEditAfteLaun).
Just a thought, I just funded Jordan Bower for his walk to Mexico (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/904479314/walking-to-mexico-an-experiment-in-cross-cultural/). Now, my personal experience of Haiti is limited to one trip there but my understanding is that people like Jordan would be very beneficial for bridging the understanding gap between Haiti and the rest of the world; just like your book is -- just like various expressions of art are often so powerful in actually _creating_ something, and even more so, something _sustainable_.
Just a half-baked thought.
Many of you have been privately asking if any money will go to Haiti from the purchase of this book. I would like to share this email exchange with you all you.

My email to them.
I am in a stituation where many people are eager to back this project but would like to know if a portion of the proceeds will go to help Haiti and its people. I think its a very fair and honest question.
Would it be possible to say "A portion of the proceeds from this project will go to help the people of Haiti" or something to that effect. I honestly believe that this could be a turning point for people to get involved.

Their Response.
Hi Don --
Thanks for dropping us a line. At Kickstarter our focus is on exclusively creative projects -- we are not about charitable or caused-based funds. I understand the sentiment -- and I think it's wonderful! -- but Kickstarter is just not the place for it.
Best,
Cassie
The new video looks great Don. I will continue to try to get the word out.
Question: Is this project in partnership with any established NGO? Will a percentage of profit from book sales be going back to an Org to serve in continued relief efforts?
Don, looks like an amazing book. Congrats on your hard work. Hoping you get the backing you need!!
