Just wanted to let everyone know that Kickstarter has upheld their ruling that the Misty project was offering a reward with 'objectionable content' in violation of their community standards.  They were kind enough to leave the page up during the appeals process and have agreed to leave it up for a few more hours so we can communicate with backers, but their ruling is final. The project page will be pulled from Kickstarter sometime today.

The groundswell of support from the community has been so strong and so positive that we can't, in good conscience, leave all of our supporters out in the cold.  We've asked IndieGoGo if it's a project they would host and defend against complaints by outside parties and we are waiting for a ruling from them.  If they say no (as is likely), we will host the project directly at the Distribpix site.  This is not our first choice for many reasons, but we'll do whatever is required to make this project a reality.

We'll get the project up on a new site as soon as possible-- hopefully today or tomorrow.  If you'd like us to e-mail you the link as soon as it is up, e-mail Steven to let him know (and ideally include your pledge level).

We have some bad news, but the community support and enthusiasm for this project is too big for one speed-bump to stop.

Despite the film's historical importance, its artistic merit, and all of our hard work on the film, extras and campaign, Kickstarter has decided that Misty is too sexy for the site and is in the process of terminating the campaign. Your credit cards will not be charged.

IMPORTANT: If you would like to continue to support this project outside of Kickstarter, please e-mail your pledge level to Steven@VideoXPix.com as we're unsure if we'll be able to preserve your information from within Kickstarter itself.

Obviously, we're unhappy about this turn of events. We can name 4 or 5 projects with with similar content which have been allowed to progress to completion. We are filing an appeal of their ruling (and any polite, professional e-mails you can sent to KS in our support emphasizing the artistic nature of this film and the integrity of the project would be GREATLY appreciated), but odds are that the project will NOT be re-listed.

We sill love Kickstarter, but clearly they feel uncomfortable working with us. So we're hard at work figuring out how to re-launch this project on our own. The silver lining in this dark cloud? Since Kickstarter won't be taking their percentage off the top, we're going to try to work out how to turn that extra margin into even better rewards for you.

We will keep you posted when we have details! We're going to come out of this stronger and better and we hope that you'll be right there with us. This Misty release is going to be one for the history books!

WOW!  Over 1/3 of the way to our goal in under 24 hours! THANK YOU!  And a VERY big thanks to those of you pledging at the higher levels or adding in a little extra above the requested pledge levels!  

We'll have backer-exclusive updates sharing the details of our progress over the coming weeks, but first we wanted to address a few questions from backers:

Q: Can I get posters, soundtracks, etc separately? 

A: Yes! Some of the items (martini glass, woodblock print, behind-the-scenes discs, etc) are exclusive to the Kickstarter campaign, but other items (poster, soundtrack, t-shirt) will be available for purchase separately once the DVD and Blu-ray ship.  We're offering them bundled at a discount on Kickstarter to try to raise funds, so be aware that they'll cost more later.  If you want extras of a Kickstarter exclusive, contact us before the end of the campaign and we'll see if we can figure something out.  

Q: Can I change my pledge level?

Q: How do I add in the extra money for international shipping?

A: When you click "Back this Project" (or "Manage My Pledge" if you've already pledged) it will take you to a screen with two important things on it: a box at the top indicating how much you're pledging and a list below from which to select your reward. Add the additional international shipping cost to the box at the top but leave the selected reward the same.  If you've already checked out through Amazon, you can still make this adjustment.
